Pelicans Sign Herb Jones To A 4-Year, $54M Deal



ESPN Reporting with @_andrew_lopez : Free agent F Herb Jones has agreed on a new four-year, $54M deal to stay with the Pelicans, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Kieran Piller of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Pelicans declined his option on a minimum salary to secure him long-term.

    If I was the blazers i would be blowing up the pelicans phone to get this dude and Trey in a package for dame. I wouldn’t leave them alone.

    And this new contract makes it even easier because of more money going out to match.

    Will it happen. Probably not. But it’s the best option for Portland.

    And it leaves Nola with a really good title contending team.

    At this point if I’m the blazers I would be okay not even asking for picks. That package of players is so enticing that it blows away any realistic offer from Miami or Philly with picks 6 years from now.

    Herb and Trey are both guys I would rather have than Herro in a vacuum.

    For Portland you now have a future rebuild with

    Scoot
    Simons
    Sharpe
    Trey
    Herb

    Plus grant and nurkic to go you more assets.

    You kidding me. I’d rather have that than almost any other rebuilding team other than okc.

    That includes Houston San Antonio jazz. Etc.

    Scoot has way more upside than Jalen green. And younger. Cheaper for longer.

    Houston has no wing that has the size and skill combined that Trey does. Including jabari.

    No sg or swing man outside of Jalen has more upside than sharpe on Houston.

    Only real advantage talent wise Houston has is sengun at center and more picks in pipeline.
