While I like that the Wizards kept Kuz, I agree it doesn’t make a lot of sense to call what they’re doing a “rebuild,” when they’ve got two players signed to 9-figure longterm contracts.
If either end up underachieving this season, Winger & Co will definitely utilize them in trade talks… assuming other teams are willing to take on their money, that is.

We had to reach the salary floor and it would’ve been bad asset management to let Kuzma walk for nothing. Also @ the author for calling it an “overpay” lol, Kuz as of right now is the 20th highest paid foward and I think we can all agree that he’s in at least the top 25 amongst fowards in terms of playing ability whilst also accounting for durability.
