[Oshin] Charles Barkley rewriting his will to make Auburn ‘more diverse’ in wake of affirmative action ruling

“In my will, I am leaving Auburn $5 million,” the 60-year-old NBA Legend told the media outlet on Friday. “I’m going to change it to be just for scholarships for Black students. That’s just my way of trying to make sure Auburn stays diverse.”

“I love Auburn,” Barkley added. “I’ve actually changed it to be used for kids from poor homes. But after that ruling yesterday, my phone was blowing up. I was talking to my friends and said, ‘I need to make sure Black folks always have a place at Auburn.”

“So, I’m gonna change my will and make it exclusive for Black students—all $5 million.’ It’s just for me the right thing to do. I always want to make sure that Auburn’s diverse.”

Charles might be a bit too real at times with his opinions on Inside, but the man has a heart of gold.

By the time he dies $5 million will send approximately 3/4 of a black student to college at the rate tuition increases

Best person in sports media of any sport.

Gub’na Ivey set to sue Chuck for this.

Charles is always a great representative of Auburn.

And one of the greatest players in basketball

How about you judge kids on merit and not race

Auburn isn’t diverse at all. For a state with such a large black population, the university itself has about 6% black student body. Which should be a scandal in itself, were it not for the fact that Alabama and Mississippi are still being dragged out of the confederacy

  8. Affirmative action is just not popular with the American people. Even in California, a ballot initiative for it failed and 57% of the state voted against it. This was in 2020

  9. It’s unfortunate so many people thing so little of the potential of young black people.

Shoutout to Charles. Idk if his views have changed but he did say that he doesn’t plan on leaving a dime to his family because they’re greedy as hell lol.

Now that he has grandchildren I wonder if his views have changed

Sad affirmative action got overturned because the media pushed a false narrative that poorly academic performing kids got into Ivies because they’re black

Affirmative action is quite literally racial discrimination. I’m glad it was ruled unconstitutional, and I’m also glad Chuck is using his privilege and status to help black students and improve diversity.

I mean, that’s about what they paid him. Least he can do is pay it back.

Hopefully scholarships available to only only a specific racial group are also eventually declared unconstitutional.

I’m not gonna lie, as a black dude who goes to a university and sees maybe a couple black kids a day compared 60% white and 30% Asian, I’m kinda sad Affmative action went away, cause it’s kinda uncomfortable being a minority.

  16. One thing I will say about Affirmative Action, the USA does not recognize Middle Eastern as a Minority they place them in Caucasian group so they never have Recieved it’s benefits

I will always remember that anecdote about him and his uncanny friendship with that random Asian Dad.

Why is it okay to discriminate based on race?
