You have to atleast reach out,but you can’t have Dame and CJ team again.

Next topic Pels writers can talk about until Dame gets traded to another team just dropped

I love Trey, but if he nets you a Hall of Famer then I think you give him up in something like CJ + Trey + boat load of picks.

Dame/BI/Herb/Zion is enough of a core in my opinion to win.

But I’d be perfectly fine running it back with a healthy roster

My guess is the pelicans asked but they’re throwing their name in to be the possible 3rd team if needed

Call me a homer but I see Trey as a foundational piece, I really don’t wanna include him in literally anything

If you can tell one thing about our front office is we always call and do due diligence. We called on KD, Scoot, Siakam, now Dame. Just because we call doesn’t mean we are getting that player.

I don’t see Portland taking CJ back, and I don’t see us pairing Dame and CJ in the back court.

I mean firstly they’re not taking cj back so people saying that need think about their timeline and they’ve already said they want an all star return, so it’s have to be Bi or z.

I know this an unpopular opinion as many people on this sub see Z as Michael Jordan but I’d much rather trade like 5 firsts and Zion rather than trey and CJ, trey is amazing for the price and even with his extension is a core piece and Z is being payed 34 mil to sit on the bench, people can argue whether he’s healthy or will be or not but the fact is giving up depth and cj (and I know people complain about him) makes no sense cause you’ve still got a chance that 1 of your top 3 scorers is the only one playing, and both Z and dame need the ball in their hands which means it isn’t a great fit

Compared to having cj Bi and dame you’re basically gonna have at least two at all times and the fit is much better as both cj and bi can work off ball if they need to.

Also I know we’ve seen dame and cj in Portland but this is the best defensive and talented squad dame probably would have ever been a part of, so to me it’s far more likely to work then in Portland

Edit: please tell me how I’m wrong I never get how Zion seems to be this untouchable superstar who won’t ever get traded even though he’s has only played more than 30 games once

I only have 600 tweets, I can’t waste 400 running through people fighting to trade or keep BI again 🤦🏽‍♂️

Going on 4ish months of trying to change the core and not foolishly run it back with the same injury prone basketball players while bETtInG oN hEaLTh just because they were in first place in the West for five days in December!!!, part 12:

Portland gets Zion, JV’s expiring contract, any choice of TWO future picks from the Pels including the 2024 Lakers pick and/or any of the Milwaukee picks, one unprotected and the other lightly protected.

Cleveland receives Jusuf Nurkic’s expiring contract, Naji Marshall and Jordan Hawkins OR a future lightly protected first from the Pels in place of Hawkins.

Toronto Receives Kira Lewis Jr. and Garrett Temple for Chris Boucher.

New Orleans receives Damian Lilliard, Jarrett Allen, Chris Boucher and Isaac Okoro, couple of second round picks from Cleveland.

    Your 2023-2024 New Orleans Pelicans

    Dame – Jose

CJ – Dyson – Hawkins (if not traded)

    BI-Trey-Okorro

    Herb/Trey-Chris Boucher-EJ Liddell

Jarrett Allen – Larry Nance Jr. – Cody Zeller

Leaves two/three open roster spots depending on how much Cleveland values Hawkins. I have no idea if this works cap-wise but who gives a shit. Don’t get cheap on me, Dodgson.

The Dame and CJ pairing is a little worrisome at this stage in their careers but with Herb, Dyson and Allen backing the defense and BI’s elite playmaking on full-display, this gives the Pels a whole lot of options on offense and gives us absolute flamethrower status with Trey having unlimited open looks. Boucher is a great floor spacer and has crazy length on defense as well. Okorro takes the role of junkyard dawg previously filled by Kenny Hustle, Josh Hart and Naji Marshall.

Portland kicks off the post-Dame era by taking a chance on Zion Williamson. We all know the story. Also gets JV’s expiring in place of Nurkic’s and two picks to boot. Gives Portland a core of Scoot, Sharpe/Simons, Grant (lmao), and Zion. Not bad.

Cleveland sells low on Jarrett Allen after a disappointing playoff performance and picks Nurkic for a year over JV for a year while Mobley’s body fills in. Swaps Okorro for Naji and chooses between Hawkins and a future protected pick from the Pels.

Toronto gets involved and is need of guards after VanVleet robbed Houston blind in free agency. Takes Kira Lewis and agrees to take Temple for Boucher.
