I always enjoy the show but I'm surprised how often Brou comes back to the idea that "it's a business" and ignores sports history. This is not McDonalds. Yes, you pay Dame a lot and him doing his job is not just showing up and being professional. It's him being a superstar and making millions upon millions for your organization. It's a relatively small league and if you treat your superstar poorly that tarnishes the reputation of your organization and people in the league remember things like this. This is a league about relationships and you have to keep all relationships in good order to be successful.

Portland didn’t want Dame anymore and it was clear, Dame wanted them to trade the 3rd pick for a proven star level player, they drafted Scoot, Dame waited to see what they did with free agency and they respectfully overpaid for Grant. Those 2 moves doesn’t alone said a lot to me. Now Portland gonna look for the best package regardless of where Dame wants to be.
