The Blazers owe it to their Fanbase to get back the best possible return that they can. That organization has been run so poorly for so long, and they wasted Dame’s tenure. Now they have no choice but to do what’s in the best interest for the team. The player was great for them yes, but management blew their chance to treat him with total respect in s trade.
He's going to go to a contender, because only contenders would want to trade for him. That's why superstars end up in contenders when traded. Why would the Jazz or any rebuilding team trade their future to get Dame? To do what? To end up in NBA purgatory, miss the playoffs and the lottery ?
Chris is all cap 😂. Basically if they screw him they will turn off a lot of potential free agents and sets a bad example for the guy you just drafted to replace him.
Broussard keeps missing the point. The fact is that Dame stayed in a city where he knew nobody else was going to come to join him and kept the faith even when the front office couldn't put together a competent team around him. He could have forced an exit years ago. The whole "well, they paid him a lot of money" argument is ridiculous. (1) Any team he would have went to would have also paid him max money, and (2) who the hell was Portland going to pay if not Dame?
This is an odd discussion where everybody is kind of talking past each other.
Nick is right that Portland I think would be unwise to send Dame into the NBA wilderness given his loyalty and their perception as a place that superstars aren't flocking to play. The thing is though that being fair to Dame isn't necessarily sending him straight to Miami, he apparently doesn't mind Brooklyn and that's a team that can make Portland maybe the best offer available.
Chris is right that Portland need to get the best offer and that likely will not be with Miami but at the same time I don't believe Portland can just send him anywhere.
Brou cannot compare a person who can move from one job to the next in a free market to athletes who are trading like cattle and playing cards. There has to be some value to being happy in your life, something all the money in the world can't buy.
I hope Dame will land somewhere that makes him as least somewhat as happy as he's been in Portland. Good luck young man!
NBA is business. Blazers are a business, if they miss on this… they will be like Charlotte or Magic, where they do not sell out. 4 floor tickets with a free pizza or something for $100…😂 . I am with Broussard, Nick acts like Boston, Philly and the Clippers are Orlando, Utah and San Antonio. He may say Miami but all the spots except the latter are contenders. If Dame cannot see that, he needs to stay in Portland with no ships and celebrate the statue and the records in Portland.
IDK if Chris is naive or he just thinks he's this hard nose businessman. He acts like if they do Dame wrong the players union and the agents aren't going to shadow black ball Portland in retaliation. Rob seems like he's just now recovering from Boozer and that was in 2004!
Bru is the biggest HEAT hater! 😂 he just keep hoping for the Celtics to get dame but he failed to mention that Portland would have to swallow the 295 M super max he just signed. DAME time in the 305!!!!!!
AGAIN SHOOTING WASN'T THERE PROBLEM. AND LAST I CHECKED THEY BEAT THE CELTICS. SO WHAT DO YOU MEAN. THEY WILL BE BETTER THAN THE CELTICS 🤔🤦🤷😅😂🤣😭 ADDING DAME WON'T HELP THEM WIN. AGAINST THE BIGGER TEAMS. THAT'S THERE ISSUE. NOT ADDING A BETTER SHOOTER
What about the Nuggets? Couldn’t they conceivably package MPJ and a 2nd round pick for Dame? They don’t currently have a 2 guard that can light it up offensively or get his own shot whenever they need it. I know he doesn’t improve them defensively, which is really all the Nuggz need. But wouldn’t he make them so much better than everyone else offensively that it wouldn’t matter? I don’t even know if this would be possible financially speaking, but damn!?! It’s fun to at least consider, wouldn’t Denver actually make sense to some degree?

Chris relating it to him leaving ESPN is CRAAZZZYYYY work

Bru has ALWAYS hated the heat man. At least pretend to hide it 😂😂

These guys forget Kawahi got traded to Toronto with reports he saying he didn’t want to go. The team will still do what’s in their best interest.
Word your looking for is seniority
Boston doesn't need a point and will compete for a championship without him. It's not a good fit! It's a better fit in miami

WhTs with Chris thinking the trailblazers want jaylon brown like he’s clutch or that dude 😂 u see how Boston is they go as Tatum goes
"Your not simply taking the best offer.."
"Why not"
"Because thats not how business is done." 🤔

I find Broussard's side on many points measured and fair.
However, there is something to be said for supporting ascendancy within an organization. Individual acknowledgement MATTERS.
My supervisor openly supports vertical movement. Horizontal….not so much

Who wins a championship first- Dame or the trailblazers? Does Dame win a chip at all.. ever?
We all know he’s going somewhere else.
Dame will not make the heat front runners they will lose hero and they already lost G V and stroos
If the sixers can get dame without giving up Maxey omg embiid and dame whould be insanely unfair
brou is so damn hard headed holy shit
Broussard just hate the fact that he wants to be in Miami. Brussards a bitch

Nick got cooked dame going to look good in green
Boston wasn't on Kyrie's list. And then he walked.
Trust players in the league are watching. Doing Dame wrong would be ugly for the blazers in the future!
Nick wrong is a clown as always
A trade to Boston for Jaylen Brown would be perfect. Both teams will benefit from this trade.
seems like Brou has no clue that Dame said he doesn’t want to play in Boston
Chris loves to l compare himself to this once in a life time superstates
Mia Boston or Phi that’s it
Would this work:
Bulls – Herro
Blazers: Levine
Heat – Lillard
Obviously there would be sweeteners in it like draft picks other players etc.
Would this package centrepieces work?

Broussard clearly doesn't like the heat 😂
Bru is the biggest HEAT hater! 😂 he just keep hoping for the Celtics to get dame but he failed to mention that Portland would have to swallow the 295 M super max he just signed. DAME time in the 305!!!!!!
Broussard is fighting for the ‘anyone but Miami’ leader.
Kyrie and dame are different shut up
Nick is so self entitled brain washes millennial.
If I am Cronin I take best package and send him packin. I love the guy but business is business…….He has been paid very well, Nothing else needed.

I hate when people say they have him a contract like it’s a favor no he earned the damn money and any team would have given it to him

Blazers don’t want to be the team to screw over dame because it sends the wrong message to potential free agents.
