Lakers ‘win free agency,’ retain core, sign Vincent, Hayes & Reddish | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

Over the weekend, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to retain Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura. The organization also signed Jaxson Hayes, Cam Reddish, Gabe Vincent, and Taurean Prince. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes debate if LeBron should be happy with the Lakers moves in the first week of free agency.

  1. No lie Westbrook with the team they had after trade dead line for Westbrook that’s a str8 championship squad I’m sorry cuz atp you run it back them you let Russ have his time with the second squad am we’ve bugs now this season

  2. Anyone in any league on any team above 36 years old and nothing but negativity from everyone on FS1. Except………..LBJ. If him and AD have a track record of lack of availability, not sure how anyone can thing the team just got better. Not sure how these moves closed the gap between them and the team that just merked them in the WCF.

  3. I love Schroder but Schroeders ceiling is definitely not higher than Gabe Vincent 💀😂😂 Vincent was the Heats third best player on finals run and in some games there second best player. He was absolutely pivotal to them making finals particularly against Boston and they don't make it without him. Schroder meanwhile is a high energy effort player who did have some strong games in playoffs especially defensively but he was not even the 5th best player on Lakers and he didn't do all the things Vincent was doing on the big stage for the heat. Also one more thing the fact the warriors are ahead of them in odds to win west is absolutely baffling. The warriors got significantly worse this off-season and the Lakers dismantled them pretty easily when they knocked the warriors out of playoffs. Im fine with Denver being favorites rn to win west and i get the suns big 3 giving the suns strong chance to win it but warriors nah. Lmao

  4. Rob pelinka has to be paying the media at this point. Read this completely- lakers having a good offseason is BS he's been terrible. Gabe shot 32% in reg szn and thats close to his career number. I'm not banking on one playoff run. Dlo averaged 6ppg in the WCF and if you think he's a good 3pt shooter than you dont watch games and go off 2k shots. The rest are actually below average 3pt shooters. Vando played 6 min in the playoff at the end because it 4 on 5 on offense with him. Beasley was DNPS DLO was terrible. People take results without context. THEY MADE THE WCF IN SPITE OF THEIR TRADE PIECES NOT BECAUSE OF THEM. it was still all on 38 Y/O BRON and injury plauged AD, everything still had to be on them and the team could do nothing when they went off the floor. On top of all that they could have added these same pieces while keeping Kyrie ( kyrie contract leaves dallas with their full Mid). The Lakers success last year in the playoffs was because AD was literally playing the best defense all time and bron was still carrying the offensive workload. Pelinka has made terrible decisions. This isnt 2018, bron needs another player who can get 25ppg every night by themself not with bron creating everything like w AD who takes every other night off.

  5. How tf did lakers get reaves on this stupidly cheap contract. Some under the table BS is going on here.

  6. Hayes and cam reddish look out for them they lottery picks that went to bad organizations when Phil handy get them watch out Rui was a lottery pick in the same draft when he came to LA look what happened in a half of season I love this team

  7. Schroeder's a gutsy player but his chemistry with AD was terrible. Vincent is also a better 3pt shooter and hopefully he improves next year.

  8. Watch LeBron get Bronny to the Lakers respectfully it would be great for the NBA with AD in his prime

  9. As a fellow balding guy, I want to know what Nick Wright did to his scalp to make all that hair appear. Is it a wig or is it natural?
