  1. "We owe it to Dame to trade him to where he wants to go….
"Yea they did the same for me!" Donovan Mitchell

  2. I'm a huge Jason Timpf fan.
    However.
He's entirely full of shit on this notion that the Blazers would be acting in an unreasonable and outrageous fashion if they are sincere in saying that they will do what's best for the franchise rather than simply send Lillard wherever he wants to go. True, Portland management has failed to build a winner around Lillard — series of unsuccessful draft picks and negative-impact trades over many years (along with the built-in disadvantages of a small, provincial market) have left them asset poor. But "after all that he has done for the team for so long," the Blazers did right by Lillard with an ENORMOUS contract; so much so that his value would be hard to recoup, whether an eventual trade would be at his behest or the team's discretion. THAT was a meaningful expression of loyalty by the team. But Timpf would have us believe that in order to honor his contributions Portland ALSO must beggar the team's future prospects?
    No.
    Just…no.

  3. I saw an interesting variation of the Dame-to-Heat trade (apologies I don't remember the YouTuber) where Miami gets Dame and Grant for Lowry, Herro, Martin, and Jovic. Lowry is a big expiring who can act as a mentor for the teams young guards and can still play productive minutes off the bench. Martin is a good role player that also fills in at the foward positions given that Grant would be on the move. Jovic is a young big that is on a similar timeline as the young core and who you hope could fill in for Nurk when he inevitably gets injured or traded. Herro is redundant but hopefully he can be flipped for more assets because Miami doesn't have many to give.

  4. Teams are always caving and giving in to the players trade demands to the teams they want for a bag of crap. The Blazers don't owe him so damn much that they should accept a bag of donuts (robinson) and a rich man's bag of donuts (herro) for a top 10 maybe top 5 player. Players aren't more likely to go to a team just because they knelt and kissed the (non existent ring) of a player 5 years ago. And agents won't give a team a "deal" on another player because they treated another client well. A player will only go there if you pay their ass their money. Cmon now

  5. How is it a bad look for Portland to try and look out for their best interests, just like Dame himself is?

  6. No screaming. No yelling. No hyperbole. No hot takes. Just cold, hard basketball analysis and discussions. God bless this channel.

  7. Trading Dame to the Heat would royally fuck the Blazers. They have jack shit they can offer the Blazers.

  8. The Volume is top tier with Jason (You), Draymond, The OG Colin. Your the best man literally break down the game better than espn whole cast. You look at the game with a players eye when you said it’s 5 archetype frames in the NBA was when I knew you know your stuff, I hate those analysts who see the stat line and assume how the game played out stat freaks I hate em’, sometimes stats don’t show a true documentation of a game for example a player having 30 a analyst things whoa that guy had a great game whole time that player had 25 in the first quarter (just an example) whereas you use stats like points per average pull up or points per catch and shoot stats that can give you a true visual of how the player plays. Thanks for your unbiased opinions and outlook on my fav sport you are one of the best right now!

  9. As a Warriors fan, I'm frustrated too about the lack of big men (stretch-4s and legit 5s) signed. But the Warriors could only offer vet minimums, so barring other trades (most of which proposed seemed like lateral moves at best) it was always going to be hard to make happen. Most stretch-bigs and centers did not go for the vet min.

It sucks going into FA with tempered yet hopeful expectations, and still come up short. But things aren't quite done yet.

  10. Dame is overrated. Him and some of the media are acting like he delivered back to back championships or something. He's not owed anymore than the half a billion dollars he's made. You've gotta be like a Brady or Crosby or Curry to make that kind of demand if you're leaving.

  11. I want Dame to get with Embiid, I’d love to see Dame off a screen or pin down from Embiid & the defender not knowing who to stay with geesh, Dame killed all his championship dreams him, Jimmy, & Bam would have that strong culture that fans would love but until Miami realizes Bam needs a center with him so he can play PF they don’t stand a chance against bigger teams like Denver.

  12. Yeah I'm sure dame will be good butt brothers with butler just like those two basketball players had that video showing them having anal sex so f Lillard

  13. Portland need to do some service for Dame. i think he is the only player i know that requested the trade yet the city gives their regards and happiness

  14. You have the best takes man you deserve a show on espn. I wish they found more knowledgeable analysts like you

  15. We’re dame screwed up is he trusted the organization? He should’ve asked out 4 years ago. This is what loyalty gets you…in the end he showed you can trust management if they are talking they are lying

  16. It’s clear. Portland can’t suffer the Miami Heat to win another championship. They can’t win and their vision of success is stopping the Heat from winning.

  17. i dont see why the blazers would be interested in anything miami has to offer. portland should do their best to make lillard happy but not if comes at the expense of a decent return

  18. The CP3 trade can only be to trade him again or to unload JP's contract. How is he supposed to do anything for the dubs. He can only be on the floor when Steph isnt, right? When Steph isnt on the floor, they are barely a play in team.

  19. Hopefully Blazers wait it out for the actual best offer for their team! If Miami Heat don’t get a 3rd team involved (Blazers don’t want/need Herro and their picks aren’t valuable) they’re assets alone don’t come close to what Jazz/Thunder/Wolves/Nets/Spurs/Celtics can offer!

Do what’s best for you Portland! Dame has FOUR YEARS LEFT on his contract (33-36 years old) so he should have ZERO leverage!

It’s such a bad precedent to send players with 4years left on their contract to whatever team they demand to be traded to whatever team they want.

Horrid horrid take by Jason even worse then his Jokic takes the last couple years when he was clearly top2 player and he didn’t have him top6. “They should send him to Miami bc he wants in first year or 4 year 200-250 million contract even if it’s a bad deal for your franchise and the fans!” WTF kind of take is that?!?! Of course the Blazers shouldn’t do that.

Dame is hypocritical AF with this move actually given everything he’s said the last 5 years.

PS not mentioning Pacers getting Bruce Brown & Obi Toppin for two seconds is lame when that was clearly a top5-10 upgrade of any team.

  20. Keep up the good stuff man, rlly love you’re videos Jason! I’m trying to get into the nba more and nobody has helped as much as you!

  21. There's no way Portland gets completely cold blooded on the Dame thing, Scoot, Shaedon and their reps are watching too. They probably want Miami to do the work of moving Herro and to perhaps take Nurkic off their hands. Which I think is fair. They got no room for Herro.

  22. Players who will never go to Portland anyways are monitoring how he is treated. No one goes to Portland, they shouldn't even worry about "how it's perceived" by other players.

  23. I think, there is no way the Blazers care about what NBA fans think… They might try to do well with Dame but the Heat are smart and it's in their interest to make them a very bad offer because Dame is going to play for them! Dame will need to make a concession as giving 2 or 3 preferred destinations to create leverage. It's in the Blazers interest to get as much as possible for Dame as literally any other organization would do. I'm no Blazers fan but I would say you want your team to win as soon as possible, right?

  24. Horrible take on the Dame situation. The previous GM made egregiously bad decisions and wasted Dame’s prime, but the team and new GM do not owe it to him to send him to Miami for peanuts. Dame signed a lucrative contract just a year ago – that’s the risk you take. The team should get the best offer it can. Also the whole “players are monitoring how Portland treats Dame” is cannon fodder. Free agents don’t go to Portland. This changes nothing.

  25. If I'm looking for fun in basketball I watch NBA on TNT. If I'm looking for real in depth analysis on all teams of the NBA it's hoops tonight. I'm from New Zealand and I'm a massive fan of yours, love ya content bro. Been tuning in the 22/23 season. Keep up the great work, Jason. U be surprised the love of basketball on this side of the world. I've recommended you to many basketball fanatics in New Zealand. Anyways lovs your work bro.

  26. The idea that the player who could of left but made sure to sign a huge extension to get more money deserves to get traded wherever he wants regardless of the return they can get is laughable. All the media loves to say “it’s business” when it’s in favor of the player but when it’s the other way around business isn’t most important anymore lol

  27. post harden houston era has been filled with nothing but dissapointed how overpaying for FVV and bricks will help them is beyond me, the team is stacked with young talented players with an bad ego that cant defend or put up quality shots that play for themself not the team

  28. Yea i hope you’re right about the blazers, Dame deserves that and it seems like a sound tactic for the team.

  29. Great videos. I really like your analysis. I watch lots of this channel. I do skip the introductions though…they aren't necessary.

All in all though, I love the content.

  30. I am tired of all these player-centric arguments. The guy took $60m in his 37th year and all of a sudden he is making demands? He should have let his deal run out and signed with the Heat instead. That's how LeBron and LaMarcus did it. We are supposed to act like contracts don't mean shit? He knew nobody is coming to Portland but he signed and waited till he is trade-eligible and he asked for a trade. That is exactly what happened. That is also what Bradley Beal did. Washington was just dumb enough to give him a no-trade clause. I don't get that you eat your cake and have it back again.

So Portland should be moribund for the next decade because they wants to do right by him. They also deserve a chance to be relevant.

  31. I'm bulgarian and your pronunciation of Vezenkov is as close to perfect as i've ever seen.
