Warriors Rumors: Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Steph Curry ‘Established Guys’ Had Issues with Jordan Poole (Bleacher Report)

After the Golden State Warriors traded rising young guard Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards, a rumor has come out that there was a deeper issue behind his departure.

According to [Belle Fraser](https://nypost.com/2023/07/03/all-the-warriors-had-a-problem-with-jordan-poole/) of the *New York Post*, The Ringer’s Logan Murdock recently said on *The Bill Simmons Podcast* that veteran players such as Klay Thompson were not too fond of Poole.

“All the established guys had some version of a problem with Jordan Poole, whether it was Klay **ironically** saying that Jordan doesn’t pass the ball enough and shoots too much,” Murdock said.

Poole’s trade also was followed by the Warriors re-signing star forward Draymond Green, who shared a tenuous relationship with the youngster after punching him in the face during training camp last offseason. Murdock noted that it would’ve been difficult for the two of them to coexist for another season.

“And then you have Draymond \[Green\], who sees Jordan as this guy is like, ‘yeah, I did punch him,'” Murdock said. “I did do all these things, but now I don’t have a voice within the locker room because of what happened.”

From Bill Simmons Podcast, Steph was also at the position where he is trying to bring all together from the incident, saying to Jordan Poole who was a victim of Draymond’s punch

“…Man Im behind you Jordan, so can you just get RIGHT so we can win?”

I hope the wizards win the championship this year.

  2. pskill43

Dude got punched and then singled out as the bad apple

  3. WhyyyLuigi

I hate playing devils advocate but like we really don’t know how Poole was behind closed doors, esp with this shit coming out…it’s kinda damning but I still feel sorry for bro.

Hope he balls out in Washington with Kuz

  4. Sweatytubesock

Poole got punched by Green, who is a transparent asshole, but Poole sounds kind of like an asshole in his own right.

Draymond had issues with Jordan Poole? I find that hard to believe.

  6. thy_armageddon

To be fair Steph may have seen how much money Poole makes in comparison to himself and just considered him one of “the poors”.

  7. CapitalismEnthusiast

Another example of Stephs great leadership

To be fair to Pool, the Warriors are a horrible team to be a young guy on. Coach has no intention of playing you and your teammates could care less.

brehs, the remy pov video where she wears a backwards snapback honestly might be the GOAT

  10. Inevitable-Ad-4192

I’ve also wondered how all this is going to affect Wiggins, Pool was clearly his best friend on the team

  11. People say he was punched, he was punched, but does anybody even know WHY?

  12. left_over_croissant

Be honest It wasn’t just Jordan, it’s their entire young core who had problems with them and Kerr took their side even though they were plenty times the were wrong. I’m speculating but I can definitely see that there’s a lot more that happened in the background probably worse than the punch that got their entire young core so scared.

Wizards: Thanks for the info after the fact!

*This is about GSW trying to manage their image.*

*Dray who is an asshole punched Poole in the face.*

*GSW was more pissed about the leak than the incident.*

*If Poole was more valuable to GSW than Dray then you would see an entirely different wrap and revision of events.*

*Moving right along Poole is gone, was the problem all along and even Steph and Klay have Drays back.*

*So ultimately Dray threw the punch for the fans and the franchise because Klay and Steph couldn’t, he is a hero and Poole is responsible for the cancer and failure.*

*But now everything is better and GSW are in win now mode.*

  15. Pumpoozle

Aka Draymond makes a rumor about Poole to justify his punching

  16. Hxghbot

Yeah these rumors arent really making me think worse of Poole tbh, glad he’s out of that toxic environment and kinda hope the Warriors get stuck in rebuild purgatory once this core age out completely. They would deserve it, this core had one of the best vet mentorship cultures to come into and by all accounts have not paid it forward to the next generation.

I can’t wait to see Wizards vs Warriors (Never thought I’d say that).

  18. Thellamaking21

Klutch propaganda machine is extremely strong.

Only thing that can stop this is if draymond criticized lebron.

  19. unclehelpful

Surely Curry throwing his mouthpiece and getting ejected after a bad Poole shot late in a game speaks a thousand words.

  20. RVAIsTheGreatest

At the end of the day, the Big 3 in Golden State are the system. Jordan Poole thinks highly of himself and sees himself as a key cog in any wheel, not a support player. We know he’s wanted to start for a few years. His timeline and his needs simply do not align with where the Warriors are as a team, and after the terrible playoff performance Poole had, the Warriors had their cover to dump him.

It remains quite striking that Poole went from the performance he had in the 2022 Finals—Warriors probably don’t win without him—to being off the Warriors in a year.

  21. DuckyFuzz99

The warriors won’t win another chip in 2023/4 and they’ll blame Poole again somehow

  22. >According to Belle Fraser of the New York Post, The Ringer’s Logan Murdock recently said on The Bill Simmons Podcast that veteran players such as Klay Thompson were not too fond of Poole.

Genuinely asking… is this reliable or nah? Granted, I don’t follow podcasts but I follow the NBA media and news and I’ve never heard of him.

  23. Dray playing the victim is just spectacular gaslighting.

  24. HotdogIsaSandwitch

Klay has earned the right to say what he wants, but him saying that Poole doesn’t pass enough, is ironic. Especially with his shot selection at times.

And yeah. I know I’m going to get hated on for this point of view.

  25. matty_nice

So Bleacher Report is getting information from the New York Post, who is getting information from the Bill Simmons podcast.

Why don’t we just refer to the Bill Simmons podcast, and cut out the middle men?

  26. RealLanceStorm

He was done that night he took that shot vs the Lakers and bricked it. They were preparing to ship him out and run him down right there.

  27. opkpopfanboyv3

Where was this rumors when Poole was still on the team smh

  28. the more i hear about klay and draymond the more i dislike them. obligatory fuck kd for joining the warriors and not the wizards lmao

  29. Imaginary-Tourist-20

It’s good though. Klay and draymond are so cliquey they need an antagonist to bust them out of their own heads

  30. VikingsandWolves

Draymond is a donkey who kicks players in the nuts and punches teammates in the face. If anyone deserves to be sucker punched its that loudmouth. Poole probably grateful, sounds like the clique turned against him and he was eating at the lunch table alone.
