hopefully soon bc I already can’t handle r/nba

I think Blazers will end up caving and taking the deal before the season. Just start the new era with no distractions for young players

Did AD ever said he wanted to be traded to the Lakers?

I was around during that time and don’t recall him ever leaking a specific team. Perhaps in private, but not even in “sources say.”

It was largely assumed that the Lakers were players for AD because they shared the same agent, they had LBJ, and of course it’s the Lakers and they always get what they want.

Here’s an article regarding his trade request.

    https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/news/anthony-davis-lakers-trade-request/f4ldgseobwvg1a6zzj7ythw0l

    >Back in January 2019, Davis took the bold approach of going public with his request. This wasn’t “sources say” flashing across the screen — Paul just told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that his client wanted out of New Orleans and didn’t plan to sign a five-year, $240 million supermax extension with the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in 2012.

    >”Anthony wants to be traded to a team that allows him a chance to win consistently and compete for a championship,” Paul, who just so happened to also represent James, said at the time. “Anthony wanted to be honest and clear with his intentions and that’s the reason for informing them of this decision now. That’s in the best interests of both Anthony’s and the organization’s future.”

    >…

    >Despite constant rumors, Davis remained on the Pelicans roster through the deadline. In a bizarre All-Star Media Day appearance, Davis both confirmed there was a list of four preferred teams (reportedly the Bucks, Clippers, Knicks and Lakers) but later added all 29 other NBA teams were on his list.

Realistically it’s only in our best interest to get this done quick, we can’t sign anymore FA’s until this is done. Blazers could stall this until the deadline if they really wanted to, that’s why I think we’ll have to send out as many assets as they want.

Cope or not, I think this is already done and Cronin is just using ESPN to make it seem that they tried. The holdup is probably with Simmons or Nurk and who gets compensated. Miami has been part of big trades before, in the sense of getting a star and the amount of teams and players involved, I think this will be a 5 team trade between the Heat, Blazers and Nets being the main teams and with OKC and the Spurs doing a minor role with potentially unlocking the pick and taking on salaries

    Trailblazers aren’t getting Jovic 😡

    Lets take this to August

  7. Seref15

I think it gets done before the end of summer league.

  8. BlackEygptian

It will get done soon. The owner loves Dame.

Im already losing interest tbh. The first couple of days i was going insane, now im just waiting for the news and checking twitter notifications.

I really hope we can get him before the season start so he can build chemistry with our squad. Also the team is holding out on signing FA.

While I’m confident we land him, our team isn’t horrible if we don’t.

The only reason I’m anxious is we can’t move on to other signings until it’s complete which severely hampers our ability to move further than last year, given that we gave up Struss and Gabe

The KD example isn’t totally accurate. He initially expressed interest but then rescinded his trade request and was on board to play with the Nets. He probably would have stayed if Kyrie conducted himself like a normal person

I don’t give a damn. I’ll enjoy basketball the same way, whether we land dame or not. Cool down on the narrative, boys; come back to enjoying the summer league and to what we already have in the present moment.
