I feel like he’s going to have that Kevin Martin/Dennis Shroeder 6th man role with plenty of minutes unless he really stinks it up for an extended period. I think he’ll have plenty of opportunity here to showcase his talent.

I mean if he really is *that* good, like All Star or fringe level good, the biggest adjustment we would have is letting Dort (gasp) come off the bench

The first guy concern is weird honestly. Micic wants to go to a competitive team to showcase his ability, which in first place is an odd request. Usually these contending team had great ball handler, someone who can play make, other wise how did they even become a competitive team?

He has to beat all other players to get minutes? No shit, that’s basketball and business. I think Micic’s skillset, as well as his experiences oversea, just unique and irreplaceable. And that’s prolly what presti see too. Going to other team ? Unless it’s a rebuilding team he can have more reps to make mistakes, which he doesn’t wanna go. IMO, he has what it takes to average 20 plus minutes per game.

If he’s good enough to play 20+ on a contender he won’t have any problems out competing for big minutes here. I think we are done with chasing high draft picks with our own pick

I disagree. He is most likely taking both Joe’s and Mann’s minutes. Micic is a better player, he just is. We’ve also seen funky lineups with Giddey at the four, Micic should get 25 minutes.

These guys bring up decent points, but you can tell they do not watch OKC like that. (Which is fine I can’t ask overseas guys to be OKC nerds). But Micic isn’t fighting Tre Mann and Poku for MPG. He is going to be the first guard off the bench and run the offense when SGA or Giddy are not on the court. Mann is fighting for a roster spot before he is fighting for the 6-8th man roster spot. Poku is going to be playing backup 4 and and weird lineups the 5 and maybe 3 for a couple Min a game.

Micic will have to get better off ball in certain schemes. He won’t be the default playmaker in all lineups he plays in. But if I had to guess I think this is kind of what we will expect in MPG.

5-7 MPG with SGA and Giddy both off the court. This is where he will be asked to lead a second unit and be that distruster and play the role he is used to.

6-8 MPG where one of SGA and Giddy are off the court. This is where he will sometimes run it and sometimes not. Kinda like we see SGA and Giddy play together.

10 MPG this is where he is on the court playing that off ball role. Maybe taking Dub/Dorts spot while they are resting. He can shoot and that’s what we will ask him to do. Also in certain games where he is going off he will finish the game over probably Dort. Unless we need elite defense not the usual.

23 MPG on average. more when injuries pile up, the are bound to happen. Depth is good.

IF we are good Micic will play a giant role in our success and continue ti get MPG. If we are under .500 or looking like we will finish 8th-11th place in the division. Micic will be traded at the deadline for draft picks and we will ride with our squad. I’m team auto playoff berth so I think Micic is going to be that man we need off the bench. I think in 6 months we gonna have nephews argue if he should start over (insert random name who isn’t getting 15PPG).
