This is such an unserious team
It seems like everyone is penciling him in as a 4, but I think he’s 5. Hopefully he can run other 5’s off the court
Four years? Is this common for a 2nd rounder?
From [Bobby Marks](https://twitter.com/BobbyMarks42/status/1676729900760289281?s=20):
>Golden St. benefits from the new second round exception rule that allows high spending teams to offer a 3 or 4 year contract.

>Without the rule, the maximum years Golden St. could have offered is 2.
Similar to the Smiley deal in 2019 (back then had to use the MLE), hope things work out better for TJD.
is james dunleavy, his agent, related to our gm?
we can cut him after two years lol idk why everyone overreacting

Smh couldn’t even get 3yrs guaranteed like my guy Ryan Rollins. Guess that’s what happens with no TPMLE (thankfully they got that new 2nd round exception).
Nice, happy to have him signed. The options or partial guarantees in year 3/4 could end up mad valuable. If he pops in year 1 or 2, they could agree to not pick up his option and iron out a reasonable 4yr extension, kinda like New Orleans just did with Herb Jones (turned down his $1.8M team option for a 4/56). That’s one way to get talent on fairy team friendly, mid tier deals.
Wonder what year 3 and 4 look like, partial guarantees or strictly non-guaranteed/team options? Also wonder how smooth that “Dunleavy v Dunleavy”negotiation went lol
Seems like our FO is really high on TJD.
One of his agents appears to be the Mike’s brother.
I’d just be happy if one of our draft picks actually pans out and becomes a key rotation contributor for a few seasons
