Marks: Cap Ramifications for Boston Trade exception created: $6.2M (projected) Keeping Williams at the same salary would have cost an additional $40M toward the tax for Boston.

Will we be using the trade exception though?

  2. Aggressive_Camp7336

This is all the fucking clippers fault smfh

  3. jiriwelsch44

Theis makes $9M, so no need to worry

But but Brad got the “green light” fireworks 2.0

  5. chivestheconqueror

Brad is all brains, zero heart. Ainge taught him well.

2 2nd Round picks and a 6.2mil trade exception is kinda ass

would rather have just kept Grant

hoping this leads to something that can actually help us win now

I want to believe that the Marcus trade and this aren’t all about saving money even if it makes us worse

  8. theborjsanity

So it’s just to shed salary while banking on landing a role player comparable to Grant with the SRPs?

  9. Beantown00

This is why is sucks having a cheap ass owner lol

So this is just to save ownwrship money? Grant was needed to guard the Embiid and Giannis of the world. And now we are counting on 3 injury prone front court guys.

The Celtics now have a need for a new 3-and-D guy who fits into the $6.2 mill TPE. Looked it up just now and old friend Aaron Nesmith is only making $5.6 mill next season. Do it Brad. Mend my broken heart please.

Nice! High fives for Wyc! Love hearing that Wyc gets to save some bucks. No better news for the fans than hearing Wyc gets to spend less on the team. Go Wyc!!

  13. rinygiants

Not worried about Grant not a make or break the Celtics ill take the picks!

brad laughs when we doubt his team building genius.. it’s only a matter of time

The only view that matters here is wyc’s

So as fans let’s hang tight and pray that our three injury prone big men can last the entire gauntlet of the playoffs this year

In Brad we trust. People here were shitting on the Derrick White trade. Bernardoni was so mad (a preview of his meltdown when Marcus was moved).

Brad and Mike Zarren know what the fuck what they’re doing. Reddit and Twitter do not. It’s that simple.

Not happy we are losing Grant. But that’s a lot of bread.

Damn some ownership shills defending a purely financial decision.

I understand that Grant is not the most valuable player in the world, we absolutely *could* win a title without him. He’s also our best option against Giannis and is a probably our best overall defender against big wing players.

And yes I understand the consequences of the supertax. I also understand that the mini MLE, buyout market, and small TPEs aren’t giving you a player as good as Grant. Besides, those restrictions don’t start til next year and Grants salary would 100% be tradable to get under it next summer.

He wasn’t worth the money he ended up getting considering he was going to be 7th off the bench most likely and not even starting. I wish him all the best though and hope he grows into a superstar
