This is going to come down to pride. The reality is that Portland is in full rebuild, but this GM wants to remain competitive. There is no package that portland can possibly get from any team that will make them competitive. Portland needs to embrace the full rebuild, expect to not be very xo.petitive over the next few years so they can hold through the draft because truthfully bo one in the league is pushing down the door to get to Portland. If miami can collaborate with a 3rd team to get Portland the picks they need then they need to take it. No one is going to mortgage their future and their best young assets for a guy who doesn't want to play there and will eventually ask for a trade. It's too much of a risk.

Honest question, if Herro is worth so much or such a valuable player, why aren't teams lining up to to get him for just a 1st round pick? If he has that value, it should be easy to get that asset and complete the trade. If that is the hold up, it should be a pretty easy issue to solve.

I can't stand all of these teams wanting 5 to 7 first round picks plus a good young player or two all because a few teams recently have lost their mind and gave up the future to get aging players like Kevin Durant, James Harden, or Rudy Gobert. Teams need to get back to being reasonable about what is considered a fair trade value. Lillard is a great player but he gave Portland 32/5/7 last season and that was his best season ever. Lillard is a career 25/4/7 player. Tyler Herro gave you 20/4/5 last year and he's the third best player on the Heat and only 23 and he's just as good of a shooter as Lillard is. Are we thinking that Herro can't have a career average close to 25/4/7 to match Lillard's career averages? It's time for the stupidity and madness to stop. Lillard is great and I'd like to see him in Miami but he is not Shaq, Kobe, or Lebron in their prime.
