How many fucking guards do y’all want

  2. due_culture123

Where is the rotational space for Duarte?

  3. johnhenryirons

I’d rather have two 2nds than Duarte. He’s cheeks.

  4. limber_kid

he’s got those social security checks he’s collecting to keep his salary artificially low

  5. Illustrious-Plan8527

Chris Duarte has no place in our rotation. Give me Divencenzo over him for this team all day long.

  6. We probably didn’t want to take his salary and go into the luxury tax.

  7. FredVanCleet

Duarte trade was agreed upon like a week ago

  8. Jimmit79

Duarte hype died once Hart started novaknicks club.

  9. They are angling for cap space and war chest of picks for a bigger trade/signing. Not a fledgling guard that is unusable in a trade or in the rotation.

At this point ya’ll complain whenever ANY player gets traded

  11. joorral

He’s not that good and after this coming season he will be in his fourth year and wants to get paid. I rather draft two rotation players in the second round and roll the dice

We don’t want salary back – we want stars

  13. bobak186

Is duarate better than RJ, Grimes, hart, IQ, divenczo? If you’re answer is no then what’s the point of the trade? Just to pay durate to sit next to founeir?

  14. omarade2

2 second rounders or a guard we’d immediately waive…I’ll take the picks

  15. Living_Internet_2970

So does this trade mean our trade of obi for 2 second rounders wasn’t bad for todays market?

    Wasn’t Duarte ahead of obi?

  16. lancelinksecretchimp

Man, a lot of y’all burn the torch for all these castaways and never hads. Let Haliburton, Duarte, and anyone else go. No amount of lament and handwringing changes that. Do you have candles you light for you exes, too?

Also, you need to understand the reporting, both Duarte and Toppin are at best rotation players who have flashed but haven’t really been able to sustain anything during their short careers. But media reporting makes the Duarte trade a “great move” for both teams whilst the Obi trade is a “what are they doing” move for the Knicks. Regardless of any move the Knicks make, remember, it’s the worst move, there could have been infinitely better moves and even if they execute on the best move the undertone will be that the Knicks fucked it up.

chris duarte isnt just bad, hes horrible. id genuinely rather put a toddler on the court than him

  19. WhatIsGoingOnHere_2

The point of the trade was that we needed financial flexibility and assets, along with Obi wanting a bigger role. The trade worked in everyone’s favor, there was no need to trade for duartes contract when we were about to sign Donte

  20. GoldDustKid-

This was reported weeks ago (trade was made well before obi) they just made it official today. Regardless I would rather have the 2nds

  21. Broadway_Baller

The associative property of the nba lol

Yeah so I mean we have too many guards, looks like we wanted to have money to sign Divencenzo.

But you are right, Obi for Duarte is comparable trade value since they both went for 2 2nds. But Obi contract space and getting Divencenzo and 2 picks was better than Obi for Duarte

  22. solo118

Then we would be stuck with Duarte. People saying he’s shit.

  23. LeftFall2610

I just want this thread brought up next time there’s some 22yr old in the draft who’s touted as ‘nba ready’

  24. Puzzleheaded-Ad-1866

    Maybe they didn’t want Duarte

  25. TheseKnicks

Trading for nothing is better than trash.

  26. Aromatic-Director-22

You take Duarte you pay for Duarte, you keep Toppin you pay for Toppin.
