San Antonio Spurs Re-Sign Forward Julian Champagnie

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have re-signed forward Julian Champagnie!

Champagnie joined the Silver and Black midway through the 2022-23 season on a two-way contract. In 15 games (three starts) with San Antonio, he averaged 11.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 20.9 minutes. The New York native scored a season-high 26 points in a win over the Sacramento Kings on April 2, the second-most points ever for a rookie on a two-way contract. Champagnie scored in double-digits in the final five games of the season, including 20-plus in three of the five games.

  1. I think Julian is gonna surprise all of us this year. I think he has very good facilitating skills already but there's always room to improve. I think he could actually be a great 6th man to help with a run. I think he's proving with the games from last year and so far at California. The big test is this year though and I think he has it. Go Spurs Go!

  2. I think Julian is like a young Derek White but with a better shot especially the 3. He definitely is a lil more athletic but his defense and rebounding is not quite on Derek's level but it will get there. Also great at moving the ball too.

  3. Hope Julian starts for our spurs or makes the roster he’s playing well

  4. Julian sure tore it up in summer league against LAL yesterday. We ALWAYS need solid 3-pt shooting. He offers that and much more!

  5. Now go get dame and Nurkic. I don’t want 12 “picks/players” over the next 6 years. Keep sochan trade KJ McDermott gram and bunsham release RFA Langford and give them 5-6 picks just keep 1 every year. Wemby at 4 sochan at 3 Nurkic at 5 dame at 1 gas sell at 2

  6. Major congrats. He will be surprising folks! FO is playing a perfect offseason:

    (1) Sign Champagnie and Mamukelashvili

    (2) Don't sign any major Free Agents or bring in outside long-term deals that rob the young guys' development opportunities

    (3) Use all remaining cap space solely to facilitate deals for draft compensation.

    FLAWLESS VICTORY…bravo!
