[K.C. Johnson] The LaVine trade chatter isn’t going away. In fact, league sources said that LaVine has landed in preliminary conversations with both the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers, who are working with James Harden and Damian Lillard, respectively, to find them new homes.

In fact, league sources said that LaVine has landed in preliminary conversations with both the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers, who are working with James Harden and Damian Lillard, respectively, to find them new homes. While neither of those conversations gained traction for now, the fact that LaVine continues to be discussed only underscores the speculation that multiple rival executives voiced to NBC Sports Chicago during the NBA Draft Combine in May: Will LaVine finish his five-year maximum contract with the Bulls?

Back then, speculation centered on Portland perhaps trying to trade for LaVine in an effort to appease Lillard, rather than keeping and using the No. 3 overall pick. Instead, the Trail Blazers selected Scoot Henderson, committing to a youth movement that has led to Lillard’s trade request.

The Bulls recognize LaVine represents their biggest trade asset. And league sources said the Bulls’ asking price in any conversation about LaVine has consistently been extremely high.”

    I absolutely do NOT want Harden, and Lillard absolutely does NOT want the Bulls

  2. Plug-From-Oaxaca

    As long as our expectations are relatively high, I’m cool with them exploring trades.

  3. thisisjustascreename

    Harden is on what, his third trade demand in 4 years? Where would he actually be happy? Why would we be interested in that drama?

  4. Good-Rooster-9736

    Lavine and Coby for Dame sounds nice to me.

  5. KanyesMiddleNut

    just trade derozan and another role player for harden cmon now

  6. KillCreatures

    Harden would fill our PG hole but unless we get two FRPs it aint worth it

  7. FortuneBull

    Dame and Derozan would be nice but he’ll be miserable anywhere but Miami

  8. Sggeorges4

    Hope AKME trade him🔥 i want see new faces here💪🏽😎

  9. bullpaw

    I’m afraid of Zach going to Philly man

  10. AnselLovesNuts

    I bet they want Harden and Tobias contracts bc theyre expiring

  11. thelife3

    I love Harden but we’d need more than him for LaVine, Harden is better but he’s trending down, LaVine is under contract for a good price and is young. For Lillard, obviously I’d do it but Portland isn’t taking that

  12. NotKeanuReevez

    if portland actually considered trading the 3rd pick for zach (+simons/nurkic for salary matching) then their front office is fucking dumb and I prob would’ve taken that and hit a hard reset on the roster

    otherwise I’d continue to build around zach unless we get a monster offer of 1st round picks

  13. livingsolodolo

    Our team is already a hell scape. Can’t get any worse. Right y’all? .. right?

  14. thechaseofspade

    Anywhere but chicago start the tear down asap

  15. skullcandy541

    Oh now Portland wants Lavine? If you just gave us Simons and the third pick he would’ve been all yours

  16. rhj2020

    Our front office would get robbed blind in any trade with Morey. We would end up sending Zach and 3 future firsts. Worst front office in basketball.

    * Joel Embiid
    * Damian Lillard
    * James Harden
    * Tyrese Maxey
    * Anfernee Simons
    * Scoot Henderson
    * Shaedon Sharpe
    * Kris Murray

    That’s the list. If we’re trading LaVine, one or more of those guys need to be coming back to CHI – and if it’s not one of the top guys on that list, picks need to be coming back to CHI, as well.

  18. VCarry-NL

    Zach alongside Scoot and Sharpe would be nasty

    The problem is we need capital and Portland isn’t gonna give it to us. If they were going to they would have traded us the 3rd pick this year. Hell that likely would have made Lillard happy too. Instead they ended up betting it all on Scoot.

    Harden doesn’t bring anything to the table for us and Lillard is only worth it if we can keep LaVine, Vuc, and DeRozan which we can’t. Pass. See how the first half goes then blow up and trade for picks.

    If AK trade Zach for Harden I won’t be happy. If they trade him away to help a Dame trade I’ll be livid. He’s out best player. And he’s still getting better.

  21. shockandguffaw

    What’s the most we’d be okay giving up in a Dame deal?

    Zach and Dame’s salaries are only $5 mil apart, so it gets harder to build out packages that would help the Blazers with salary dumps, unless they’d be okay taking back Lonzo.

    Something like Zach, Pat, and two first rounders for Dame and Little? Maybe, if the Blazers love Zach as much as Bulls fans love-hate-love him.

  22. A1Horizon

    Put Scoot on the table and I’ll think about it

  23. zachlabean

    People have to realize that this is KC reporting the news that came out over the last week or so and nothing new.

  24. LulJerbear

    Unless PatWill is on his prime kawhi shit rn, I’m not betting on our young dudes over Lavine

  25. IMcFlyHigh

    Trading Zach just to trade something is peak Bulls

  26. IlliniBull

    The Bulls organization has no clue what they’re doing so this goes to figure.Let the chatter continue or don’t, zee faith this team has any clue what it’s doing with Zach or long term plan.

    What is this team’s plan? Does anyone other than AK honestly believe this is a championship contending roster? Does AK even believe that?

    Is Dalen going to play this year? Does our coach have a plan on how to use him? Will Demar and Zach be allowed to just play hero ball all year again in the 4th? How are we a contender? Did we re-sign Vooch to shop him mid season?

    I literally cannot think of another NBA team with less strategic or tactical direction than the Bulls right now with no signs of adjusting from a front office or coaching approach.

    The definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. See this team.

  27. hammerSmashedNail

    I think Zach is awesome. I think Dame is awesomer

  28. Accomplished_Bid7987

    DroppingDimes said the asking price is too high for Lavine, which it should be.

    I’m not trading him for RJ fucking Barrett and picks. Wait till some contending team underperforms and is under pressure, and then pull the trigger on the trade somewhere around the deadline, if this team is still trash.

    We can tank as we have our own pick

  29. pcmasterthrow

    I dunno what we get back from trading Zach that makes the team any better if we aren’t also trading away DeMar and probably Caruso and Vuc for a rebuild. I’d imagine a trade involving Portland or Philly has us as a 3rd team getting young players + picks. Getting Dame or Harden would be a disaster. Dame is obviously amazing but I don’t think he really makes the team into contenders and I’d assume we’d be giving up a lot of other things than just Zach.

    Zach is a great player IMO, it’d be a shame to lose him. I think he’s going to have a monster season coming up wherever that is. He looked pretty great at the end of last season and I think is being a bit underrated due to his slow start post-surgery. I would not be at all surprised if he was back as an All-Star in 23-24. The drama with him and the organization seems pretty overblown but we don’t really know I suppose.

  30. ThrobbinRicke

    I’m guessing that if zach ended up in Philly that harden would go to LAC because I don’t see how he does anything for the Bulls.

    I’m guessing bulls would get some combo of tobias harris and terrence mann and maybe a first or 2 way down the line. Wouldn’t be super excited about that

  31. frank3music

    Can’t wait to get rid of LaVine! Give me anything, but especially picks!

  32. TheBozKnight

    He’s not going anywhere. He’s our best guy besides demar. And we’re just seeing if someone is willing to give up massive pieces

  33. Mister-Wes

    If you want a Philly/Clips/Bulls trade with Harden ending up in LA and Zach in Philly, you have to be prepared to eat a contract or three in the deal. 76ers would likely want to dump Harris and Clips would have to dump a combination of players to make the money work. Players like Batum, Powell. So for the Bulls, you’d only do this if you get Maxey as part of the deal? Maybe they would want Bones Hyland and multiple picks? It’s complicated.
