Obi deserved more minutes, wasnāt getting them here. Not only because of Julius, but because we were always only gonna extend one of Obi and IQ.
Roby was signed in the spring and has had 1 season averaging double digits and shot 44% from 3 that year playing 21 minutes a game. Last year was down but the Spurs sucked and he only played about 11 minutes. he also has okayed center and rim protected.
I am not saying he is a savior but the front office signed him for 2 years in the spring for a reason. Do we trust the scouting? Playing behind Julius is gonna be limited minutes, so is signing a name who is mad at Thibs over minutes better then giving a kid with potential a shot and not spending the money?

Highlights look good and he can put it on the floor a little it seems like that. Iām taking all this with a grain of salt as Iām sure he had more freedom to do that on the Spurs. If Roby gets playing time he will be in the Obi role of in the corner and shoot 3s. The biggest thing if Roby does get playing time is to show he is a capable shooter and defender and maybe he will get more opportunities to showcase other abilities

Obi was a goner the day julius signed his extension. Its just unfortunate we didnāt get much for him. I hope he gets an opportunity to show what he can do.
Also i like the idea of using roby as our backup 4, sprinked some rj and hart at the 4 as well. Weāre finally gonna play some small ball and im excited to see what comes of it.

Is he a Thibs guy? Iām already preparing for Randle to play 40mpg next season either way lmao

I’m hoping he’s the backup 4. He seems like such a better fit than Obi. And I like defensive flexibility he brings to that second unit.
Quickley can guard 1 to 3. Donte: 1 to 3 Hart: 2 to 4 Roby: 3 to 5 Hartenstein: 4 to 5

Watched this dude in college. Saw some hope there. Hopefully he can provide some minutes.

I looked at his stats, not gonna get that excited.

That step through was tuff

He looks like a better shooter in terms of how and where he shoots but not as strong a finisher. Maybe I’m wrong. I’m just going off of this.
