If pj tucker have 11 million, paul reed is okay with 8 million, he still young and can improve offensively, morey needs match

  7. BedlamAtTheBank

Regardless of what we decide to do, I’m happy he got paid.

But, Morey, you gotta do it

    Per Woj ….

If the 76ers match the offer sheet, they would exceed the $165 million luxury tax threshold and incur an additional $14 million in luxury tax penalties. Reed would have veto power on trades for a year if he remains in Philadelphia.

If we don’t keep Paul and I have to watch Trez and Bamba stand around on defense I’m gonna kms

Adrian Wojnarowski, Senior NBA InsiderJul 8, 2023, 11:27 AM ET

Philadelphia 76ers restricted free agent forward Paul Reed Jr. has signed a three-year, $23 million offer sheet with the Utah Jazz, his agent, Ron Shade of Octagon Basketball, told ESPN on Saturday.
Reed signed the offer sheet Saturday morning, and the Sixers will have until 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday to match and retain Reed or let him go to the Jazz.
One term of the offer sheet contains a unique twist: The first season of the contract is fully guaranteed, while the following two seasons become guaranteed if Reed’s team advances to the conference semifinals in 2023-24, sources said. Given where the two franchises stand, it is more likely the Sixers would have to guarantee the $15.7 million total for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons than the Jazz.

    FUCK

We just lost our entire fucking bench this offseason

  12. EducationalStill3393

Fucking match this. It is cheaper than the fucking MLE. Fuck the Jazz. Fuck Danny Ainge.

  13. ChaseNBA

  14. EagleswonSuperBowl52

We should match but I bet we wont.

Mo Bamba time! 11 & 8 on 38 shooting from 3. Utah has scenic mountains and nice ski resorts, Mr Reed

This is kinda a horrible move for BBall if it happens. Collins and Lauri are signifgantly better than him, and so is Kessler. And then there are already 4 more guys on the roster who play either the 4 or the 5. I’m guessing the idea is for him to be the backup C but I doubt there is a team in the league with more players at the 4/5 right now.

Obviously want him back, but even if he doesn’t it’s cool to see him at least get that contract.

  18. mcy33zy

Contract is virtually guaranteed if the sixers match and he has veto power over trades for 1 year…won’t be surprised at all at this point if they don’t match. They signed bamba and brought back trez. Fuck.

I’m going to leave this sub I think unfortunately. I can’t support this team any longer I wish they would go to a different city in all honesty.

  20. DayOne15

Honestly I like BBall Paul but he benefited from being compared to DAJ and Trez. He’s a completely replaceable guy and matching this would be a mistake.

  21. Finger_Gunnz

I was suspicious when they signed Bamba. I knew it was over when they resign Harrell.

  22. MikeMike12

Funny how there was a post on the top of this sub yesterday saying the Montrez signing didn’t mean anything and people were overreacting. This sub has quickly become terrible. Everyone so quick to defend this team and organization that lets us down year after year and repeatedly makes bad moves in the offseason.

  23. StarCW50

I hope they bring him back but I’m not losing sleep if he leaves. Would’ve liked to see him play under Nurse though.

  24. UpliftedWeeb

If we lose Bball Paul I’m gonna cry

  25. dandan3220

I like BBall Paul, but probably gotta let him go

  26. chuin_masterofsinanj

It’s more than just paying tax, it is also not receiving a portion of the luxury tax paid by other teams which is shared with other teams.
