Good lord, it’s the Steve Hutchinson Poison Pill! I never thought I’d see it again.
Adam Silver is currently yelling at a room of CBA lawyers who left this loophole open. The frigging thing is 600+ pages and it doesn’t have a subsection about poison pills. Something the NFL dealt with almost three decades ago.

Context:
(1) if the sixers match the offer sheet they will pay Reed a guaranteed pay which they never intended to in the first place (unless the sixers tanks out the season or the first round of the playoffs in order for them not to pay the guaranteed money lol).
(2) That is how a poison pill contract works. Good thing that dallas agreed to a S and T for grant, instead of allowing a similar instance to happen.
(3) Danny is as petty as eff. I hope it is “coincidental” that the semifinals was the performance target. 🤣
Sixers still have an opportunity to retain him, meanwhile we lost Grant for a pack of gum and some pocket lint and now we’re trying to act like we’re some geniuses.
