    >”And the same way when you win a championship, everybody’s level raises, everybody gets paid and everybody wins accolades, when you underperform, it’s the same. Coach gets fired, your starting point guard is no longer there, your best player on the team in now in trade rumours every day. It goes hand in hand.”

    >”There was a mix of guys that had been there, new guys trying to prove themselves, and it didn’t work out,” he explained. “It wasn’t a great fit, for whatever reason the chemistry didn’t click, and that’s probably the most I can say about that.”

    >”I still have a great relationship with everybody that was there. If there were any issues with me personally, they were never addressed personally.”

Issue was that you took the most shots and had the lowest 3pt %

“It wasn’t a great fit.” as in the team chemistry wasn’t…No need to phrase it like he’s blaming the younger guys.

Your title is a little misleading. This is rage bait for the Fred haters

This is maturity shown by fred here. Check the previous players out:

    1) derozan – still cries to this day why masai traded him even tho he choked on a regular basis. this is on e of the biggest reasons why masai got soft and not trade anyone.

    2) caroll left and said raps are just a bad team even tho he was trash

    3) fred kept it neutral and said hey young guys and didnt fit. we all had to move on. a professional response that doesnt make the org. look bad. class here.

and yes i dont like fred but respect where it is due.

This article is entirely based off the Pivot interview from the other day

All I see is piss poor leadership… all to blame. From Masai, Nurse, Fred, Siakam… all the coaching staff… just poor leadership.

WTF is he talking about you lose your point guard if the chemistry doesn’t work? That’s up to team leadership ie FRED VANVLEET, and especially your starting pont guard, i.e. FRED VANVLEET. FVV and Dillon Brooks are going to do just fine for the Rockets! (cough cough low lottery).

Well now he’s with a even younger squad. But It was never about the team for Fred. It was about the bag. Glad we don’t have to deal with his selfishness anymore.

“young Raptors squad wasnt a good fit”

Goes to the even younger rockets

Just say you went where the moneys at

    This sub is something else.

When Fred was here, people would get into their feelings if you had said Fred is not a lead guard.

Now they get into their feelings when you say Fred wasn’t the entire problem and the biggest issue was that he was forced to take a bigger role because the rest of the squad couldn’t step up.

There was a similar turn on Nurse too. He was the one of greatest basketball minds that always got us to overachieve. One year of underachievement and he was the worst coach ever.

    Nounce means very little here.

This situations aren’t black and white. Nick and Fred can be part of the problem and simultaneously being dealt a bad hand by the management.

I would say the same thing about the FO. They are not bad, and over their tenure they have been successful, but they are not infallible and have been very lackluster over the past few seasons.

Do you believe this guy? He obviously isn’t gonna say there was beef or he didn’t get along with some guys. That would hurt his image and value.

  13. imbiczarre

Oh boy hes in for a rude awakening with the young guys in Houston.

  14. So it sounds like our young players are immature and weren’t willing to listen to advice from the vets. With Fred gone, it looks like the inmates now run things.

Holy fuck how many ways are we going to revisit this? He is on another team, let’s move on.
