Chet Holmgren today: 16pts, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steals, 2 TO’s in 29 minutes

Chet was +14 with 5-10 FG, what are your thoughts on his performance?

Chet’s ROTY to lose. He’s impactful everywhere on the floor, it’s insane.

  2. Bballpaul123

Putting his hands around his teammates in post game interviews is his staple

  3. shellfish87

The floor at this point seems like a long career as a defensive anchor

  4. pshan2191

All he has to do this year is hit the shots he’s spoon fed and block shots.

  5. dogfan20

They were double teaming Chet a lot of the game.

That’s not happening with Shai on the floor. And honestly can’t double team Shai anymore either. Going to look even crazier with Giddey feeding them.

Chet has really good IQ he knows where to be on the court

Probably his best game of this Summer League. Such a menace on defense, and finally got some shots that he didn’t have to create himself.

As he gets stronger, his driving ability will improve as he does get knocked off his balance a bit. That being said, he’s surprisingly tenacious with really excellent footwork that he can slide past defenders using Jokic-esque moves to get a layup.

    I love him.

Also, I think this Summer League will confirm that Chet should be our lone big on the court. The Chet+JWill mins are not great

OKC has an amazing future. Good for them. Chet is going to be ROY.

  9. BigSleep7

Has anyone said “Chet is who Wemby thinks he is” yet?

  10. RVAIsTheGreatest

Chet is an awesome teammate, selfless, elite feel on both ends, awesome coordination, has clearly improved his play strength over the last year. Takeaway is the young man is a beast.

Wemby got competition for Rookie of the year

  12. _Jetto_

A 20-10 guy maybe can be a legit 2nd option at worse he will be a strong solid 3rd option. If he’s healthy

  13. New_Essay_4869

His defense seems like it will carry over to the NBA. If he can keep up his recent performance into his rookie year, I’ll be happy

This is why the new CBA is awful.

Zero way that OKC should be penalized for having so much home grown talent/making great trades.

SGA, JWill, Chet, Giddey should be a core 4 that stays together and dominates for 10 years together.

I’m so excited to see the thunder play in the regular season half of them are gonna end up on my fantasy team anyways

  16. KaizenRed

Adding a guy like that to OKC’s already decent squad? They’re making the playoffs this year in all likelihood.

  17. Reddit_FuckingSucks_

I’m so excited to see what this OKC squad turns into.

The Thunder might be the mistress to my Raptor wife this season.

  19. High_IQ_is_Torture

/r/NBA users are in absolute shambles with how well Chet plays.

  20. datastuff1

OKC needs to draft for the Bronny package.

  21. SnooMacarons9592

Why are Mavs fans talking up Livelys performance in this one? 2-6 from the line? 2 shots and 2 turnovers? Lol what a bum.

  22. I’m feeling glad that I put my money down on his ROY campaign before this week.

  23. That year off rehabbing his foot seemed to help him a lot. He looks quite a bit stronger in his upper body (relatively speaking) and he’s showing extreme aggressiveness and a high motor throughout the game.

Barring injury woes he’s going to have at the very least a successful NBA career as a starter given his defensive ability and varied offensive skillset.

If he plays 32MPG this year I don’t see anyway he’s not going to easily cruise to 12PPG/7RPG/2BPG.

  24. Barner_Burner

NGL all the hype from wemby and miller etc, Chet and Jabari Smith have both looked NBA ready since their first summer league games last year. Can’t say the same about this years top 2 tbh…

  25. Cul_what

A hound on defense he really is 7 foot Pat Bev

  26. dusters

Chet ROY at +450 sounds too good to be true.

  27. NerdLawyer55

We gotta start workshopping a good nickname for big Chet

  28. vMambaaa

Love seeing more Minneapolis boys make it in the league

  29. mouse2102

He got all of his stats when Lively and Prosper went out of the game. Playing against the scrubs on the Mavs bench he did well, but as soon as those defensive guys who will be on the NBA team came in the game he struggled.

  30. jake56380

This is such a great window of opportunity for the Thunder. Very scary once they put their whole team together.

    Hype!

  31. Embarrassed-Tale8892

Chet Holmgren: the ultimate ‘floor’ general! 🏀🌟

  32. SandyMandy17

If he can do 70% of that this year we are winning 73 games

  33. LulJerbear

He should be the favorite to win ROTY
