That behind the back pass in the paint! Nice start to summer league

Definition of a guy “who’s going to win you games” that the boxscore doesn’t always reflect.
Aside from the defense, blocks, and 13 REBOUNDS that damn near gave me a saboner.
This kid just looks so “in tune” with the flow and speed of the game on a cerebral level.
I know offensively, he didn’t quite shine as far as putting the ball in the basket, but hot damn did I think he shine in other areas on the offensive end. His passing and keeping the ball moving, situational awareness, team communication, screening, and constantly moving off-ball and not staying stagnant and watching… the little things.
Think a lot of people are going to underestimate his passing and indirect playmaking on offense.

He was exactly as billed. Great at things the team sorely needs (defensive intensity, rebounding) and looks fine as a 4th or 5th option on offense. He wasn’t great when he tried to create on offense, but we don’t need him to do that. He was excellent as a touch passer and connective guy on offense.

He was phenomenal defensively. Everything you couldāve hoped for. Passing was also great. The rest of his offense was garbage, but thatās ok. The Pacers severely needed a guy like this. They needed a guy who can just be a monster on defense, offense be damned, and Iām hopeful they found him.

I was a Hendricks guyā¦but damn. Im sooo ready to be wrong. Walkers feel for the game is palpable. I was looking at three and d metrics favoring Hendricks, but walker has a basketball IQ that is so evident. They said on the broadcast he āis easy to play withā and I see that. Touch passes, around the back passes, taking the ball up the court, blocks and cut offs, REBOUNDS. Just wow. And his personality and mindset is top tier. LFG

Somehow i think his passing was undersold. Just incredible. That and his defense will keep him on the floor, then the scoring will come with time.
