[Toporek] Worth noting: Woj reported that Paul Reed has already signed the offer sheet with the Jazz. That means the Sixers *cannot* sign-and-trade him now. They either match or they lose him. Those are their only two options.

two things I say to this

    1. Yea no shit that’s how this shit works lmao

    2. Don’t act like this is Reed’s fault or that you wouldn’t take a multi-million $$$ raise if you were in his shoes

  3. Who was doing a sign and trade for Paul Reed anyway lol

    Lol so what?

    Sign him to keep him

    He’s good

Its wrong tho. You can still do it. Its a new wrinkle in the new CBA. Page 331.

Assuming all parties, 2 teams and player agree there is a rule that you can revoke the offer sheet (which apparently wasn’t there before).

I don’t see any use for that rule, unless you agree to do a S & T instead.

We can’t just say “hey give us two 2nds and we won’t match”?

Still feels like you just match it imo. Sure it’s likely the 2nd and 3rd years become guaranteed but 2 years 15.7 million for Paul Reed would still seem very tradable if we wanted to move off it later. Granted it’s also not my money in luxury tax.
