Bill Simmons is such a goon. Every time he talks about this he gets angry obv cuz dame isn’t landing in boston

Yeah seems like whatever trade happens would be powered by Brooklyn and/or San Antonio. I just hope they don’t have to give up too much in draft equity if the return is Tyler Herro (who does fit just would like to be at the right price)

Simmons has been a bit plugged in more than usual, I feel like it’s going to be through Brooklyn with us getting Herro.

In the last pod, he described a trade to get Herro where we gave up two firsts and DFS to get him (I think).

I’m really hoping that’s not the trade.

Considering how this roster desperately needs another scorer aside from Mikal, we need to get something out of this deal, i.e. Tyler Herro.

Either we are outbidding multiple teams on 1 first round pick for Herro…or I think we are including Ben Simmons as a negative asset and offering up more than just 1 first…

Hopefully it’s the one first round pick

Tyler Herro, come on dowwwnnnn. Ben Simmons gonna love Portland in November before eventually shutting it down for the year again.

He wants to Nets to use(waste) their picks on Dame so bad. Sending out all the PHX picks + more just for Dame makes zero sense and he will 100% criticize the Nets immediately if they actually did it.

Dame is incredible but only makes sense if the Nets can get him on the cheap, which won’t happen cuz if you are Portland, why not just trade him to Miami for the same cost?

Miami by far makes the most sense for him. Teams like Utah, Spurs, OKC who have assets would be insane to shed picks/assets for a team that’s not ready. Also add to that, those teams hate paying luxury tax. These factors by itself drives down his price. Then you add in his age, he’s a small guard and on a massive ballooning contract, means that his cost is/will be lower than a KD/Gobert/Mitchell trade.

The moves that Marks has been making to stay under the luxury tax don’t scream incoming superstar trade to Brooklyn if we are part of this trade it’s to get Tyler Herro and add a much needed scoring punch to our offense but that means someone is getting shipped out in order to make room to still stay under the tax. Today is the last day to guarantee Royce’s contract maybe this trade is the reason for the delay?

Bill Simmons has ZERO sources, just an FYI. We shouldn’t blow our future for a 33 year old Dame that really doesn’t make us a contender.
