It’s weird this was posted after all the reporting that Siakam is unwilling to sign an extension in Atlanta but now that we have Murray on a long term deal going for a big 3 with both of them seems…less than ideal. Especially since we’d have to ship out young players to go through with any deal since Hunter alone is woefully inadequate.

I think y’all have to accept that trading for siakam with trae and DJM on board means your FO is going for a finals run. Which also means that not all your young prospects are going to be part of the picture because you need experienced and ready contributors ASAP to maximize the title window.
That being said I am fully expecting from the raps side if something does happen that we will probably get AJ and OO and then contracts to match.

If this goes through, then I’ll make it known to that I’m anti-Siakam trade. Not as much hate on Siakam, though he’s an expensive 30 year old. But I love this young core and think there’s real potential with it. Hopefully we don’t decimate it much.

Imagine how poor our spacing would be with DJM, Pascal and OO or CC all in the starting lineup. I just don’t see how this makes sense…Quinn makes a clear statement that we will be shooting more threes this season and then we make it clear that our primary target is PS who is a terrible 3 pt shooter and has stated he doesn’t want to play for us and will not resign. This is why we can’t get anywhere as a franchise, nothing we do gives off the impression that we’re serious about winning championships.

Siakam will re-sign wherever he is traded too because that team will acquire his bird rights and can offer the max.
He doesn’t want to leave Toronto because he thinks he can make all-nba and get the supermax which is only possible in Toronto. But otherwise he’ll take his regular max from a team with his bird rights
