It’s only $4 mil a year, so not a big deal. There’s a lot of Dwight hate out there, but at $4 mil and hopefully not starting, that’s fine. It wasn’t Dwight’s fault that the team was starting him because they’ve never gotten a better C since he’s been here.
So it’s a 3 year contract as we originally knew
I’m guessing that player option is basically am I retiring
This man has finessed the Mavs for years now, I dont really belive the reports about Houston giving him an offer around 10M per year.
There is absolutely no reason to hate on Powell. The need to upgrade center is a management issue.
We should all be loving on DP, but frustrated that mgmt hasn’t found a better starter.
This PO has one interesting point, there’s a decent chance that he’ll be making *less* than the veteran minimum salary in 2025. The vet min deal now is, what, 3M? It would require quite a jump, but there’s the chance, so this PO is probably a cap inflation adjustment, a “if the veteran minimum salary surpasses your current one, you can opt out and we will bring you back for the minimum deal”.
Nico strikes again lmao.
