I am a giant blazers fan and I do like Jeremi Grant however that contract is pretty terrible. My guess is he signed Grant thinking Lillard would come back then Lillard waited for him to give him the contract than said im out.
Everybody is saying Grant is overpaid. Yes he is, that is what we have to do to get players to play in Portland. We have been over paying for years and years. We gave Dame 62 million for one year but the Dame homers are saying he is worth it. Twice as much for 8 more points per game? You tell me who is over paid. What do we do, just let an asset walk out the door? We keep him for a year to help stabilize all the kids then if they develop faster than we think we hang on to him. If we can see we are three or four years out we move him. Is Thybulle overpaid? Not sure, Dallas thought he was worth 11 million a year to them. The way we need defense I don't mind paying him. He actually shot the three better for us than he did in Philly. If he can get to 35-40% from the corner then yes he is worth it. Thybulle did look sad but those are the breaks of a restricted free agent. Who wouldn't want to live in Dallas over Portland? Can't blame the kid for being disappointed. He will definitely get more shots with the Blazers than playing with Luka and World B Flat.
