Watching the Indiana Pacers vs. The LA Stars you can catch a glimpse of today’s “pace and space” era of offense. The footage is subpar however by the second half you can see play after play of pull up 3’s, catch and shoot 3’s, perimeter ball movement, and pump fakes into a step backs at the 3 point line. Doing some digging on a box score, I was able to find that Roger Brown of the Pacers shot 7/12 from 3 against the LA Stars in game 6 of the ABA Finals, May 25, 1970.
Pretty fascinating for the time.
