Luka and Kyrie about to demolish all the teams!! Mavs have been cooking up something special with loading up Defensive selfless players around Luka and Kyrie.
The Mavs will surprise a lot of people this year. The Nuggets and Suns will be jockeying for first and second in the standings, and the Lakers, Warriors, Clippers, and Mavs will be fighting for 3-6, and I could see the Mavs end up with the 3rd or 4th seed. The Grizzles will slip with Ja out, and the Kings will not be as good because they shocked a lot of teams this year, and next year, teams will be better prepared. However, I see them getting bounced in the second round. They are 2-3 pieces away from being real contenders.
Luka really just needs to work on his endurance and commitment to defense. He already gets by every defender on the league. All he needs to do is be able to run back to defense (and stopping all the bitching to refs will also help) and use his high iq to position himself well on a team defense. Basically everything jokic does.
Kyrie is a quick read; Basketball savant, fun to watch, not very bright, easily led, selfish, flaky, liberal, not a winning player Didn't miss much, oh, and he's stinkin' rich, because he does one thing really well.
What's the goal? to win championships, ok. Now I never get when someone says who's the most important player on the team? and they say the best player on the team like Jordan, but let's say you have an established team no trade or moves available, that's your team, I mean you don't win without Jordan but you don't win without Pippen either, so Jordan it's not the most important player both Jordan and Pippen are equally important, Same Shaq and Kobe or whatever, so never one player is the most important on the team, it is alway the 2 best players on the team.
Its really funny but sad to see the yearly thing where some team thinks its going to win because of Kyrie, but inevitably fall apart because of Kyrie. I guess he could change. But feels like his production on the Cavs was the exception not the rule, and even then he had to have Lebron to win anything. Lebron also won with whatever the Lakers had a few years ago. I feel for the Mavs fans. Luka seemed a transcendent player who just needed a few pieces, but instead they bet everything on Kyrie. (Ask Nets & Celtics fans how that works out.) Probably will lose Luka for that too.
The coaches need to create offenses based off the Luka/Kyrie pairing. If they don't have creative offensive plays and just stick to iso-ball, then we won't see anything get better.
Last season was not there fault they traded away the main defenders nw sign some rebounders and some defenders. Luka comeback in shape and they will go far
Everyone forgets only one team wins each season. Talking about “hasn’t won significantly without Lebron”. Like Lebron guarantees wins. This year the nuggets won bc of Lebron I guess
