The Giannis Antetokounmpo conversational cycle begins again and is the In Season Tournament good?

Despite having multiple years left on his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, the conversation has already begun around what’s next for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Kane balances the idea of having no reason to panic based on prior evidence, while also identifying a big two year window for the franchise. Also, the In Season Tournament….what does it look like for the Bucks and is it good?!

  1. Kane im not excited. I mean they just turned some meh "meaningless games" into mid season tournament meaningless games? Maybe theres more to it but yeah i don't know. Im excited for the season to start though.

  2. I think the second apron being so close and having Thanasis would put us over makes it more likely that there will be a trade to help shed some cap 🤔

  3. i dont understand this tourney, im excited about marjon, jackson, and livingston and maybe the coach

  4. I think that the in season tournament could be good practice for the new coaching staff.

  5. Giannis won't leave Milwaukee 💪🏽👨🏽👀… And an in-Season Tournament should've happened decades ago. It'll give hope to other teams to win something. 🏆 Well done Adam Silver 👍

  6. I think Giannis will request a trade after Lillard kick them out from the playoffs with his new team in the East and Middleton runs to congratulate him with a smile on his face while Giannis counts how many bones he has broken…

  7. GA is going to retire in 12 years, having played every minute as a Buck, and Bill Simmons will still be asking if he's going to go to New York.

  8. The national cups in football exist because there are many categories from professional to amateur and there is the opportunity for a village team, for example, to play with professionals. Now such a tournament in a closed league has no logic, other than maybe they collect more money from sponsors.

  9. Giannis, Khris, Jrue and Brook realistically have two full years to be highly competitive and try to win another championship. If that does not happen in the next 2 years, Giannis is gone. The math is simple

  10. This tournament is mainly for first or second round exit teams, real contenders will just ignore it… 🤔

  11. If Giannis finds out Kane will be there if the Bucks make the Cup playoffs, then success is much more likely 😜

  12. Giannis will retire as a Buck until proven otherwise. I won't spend a single second of my time thinking about him leaving mke if he's not the one saying it (requesting a trade or similar). The mid season tournament… I couldn't care less honestly, my interest in RS took a serious blow last season after losing to an 8th seed in the 1st rd so I'm not ready yet to care about something that meaningless like this new Silver stuff. The only new thing I'm moderately hopeful about is the new anti-flopping rules but then I remember how the old flopping fines are totally forgotten nowadays and I seriously doubt it will improve the game as I wish it would.

  13. I’m on of those weirdos who loves every game. Even the meaningless regular season games that I know will be “scheduled losses” so my dumb self will probably love this stupid in season touney.

  14. let's be realistic do you think in 2 years when jrue Khris and Brooks retire or leave the franchise ,Giannis will stay to a rebuild team with some kids..come on guys no one would do this.

  15. Was this triggered by the Simmons podcast? I have no idea where they come up with these theories, but I really wouldn’t read much into it. How they are doubting the ability of this team to repeat is crazy! As Kane said, hopefully the team use it to drive them on this year and prove the doubters wrong.
I love the idea of the cup, generates more interest during the regular season, and also some more trial run of “playoff” type basketball earlier than usual, and will give us an idea of what to expect from Griffin.
