At the end of the season Carlisle called Nesmith "An example of what Pacers are gonna be all about in the future".
And on top of head coach's statement, Nesmith is the only player on the current roster who plays like a true 'dog'. Wasn't he NBA's 'Hustler Of The Year' (or whatever) award top 3 player? He ain't going nowhere.
Jackson has zero chance of flourishing with Pacers. Most definitely its not because of his talent. Carlisle and Jackson dont really like each other moreso Jackson not liking Carlisle then vice versa. Carlisle only gives minutes to players He likes.
Jackson will be moved before Smith. Carlisle is stubborn as hell if he doesnt like you and wont play you top minutes even if your doing well. Go ask Jalen Brunson.
If i were Jackson id have a bigtime attitude toward the press with damn near every time his name is brought up the media knit picks about fouls. Who cares? Thats the media echoing an excuse Carlisle gives in order not to give him more minutes because they dont really like each other.
He just turned 21 six months ago. Had 7 blocks in one start against Atlanta last year. Plays super hard every possesion. DUNKS ALL the time.
Shaquille O neal was in foul trouble every game his first 3 or 4 seasons in the league.
Patrick Ewing used to foul all the time his first couple years in the league. He fouled out all the time at Georgetown or was always in foul trouble. John Thompson used to tell Him to goaltend the first 3 or 4 possesions on purpose at the beginning of games sometimes. Thompson WANTED him to play hard and be aggressive.
When your aggressive defensive player/shot blocker your going to get fouls called on You. Like so what? He will always have at least 4 fouls every game He plays.
He knows you cant foul out in summer league. I GUARANTEE Pargo was telling him to play super aggressive on defense.
Jackson will flourish somewhere else. I hope for his sake He does get traded. Go somewhere where hes appreciated and can grow without the media knit picking about fouls every time they speak his name.
That being said Walker and Toppin are the exact type players with the exact type of jovial energy that Carlisle loves so they will both get BIGTIME minutes.
Damn i love this Jarace Walker. Sheppard is A beast and NBA ready right now absolutely.
Huge shoutout to Holmgren. Did exactly what He was supposed to do and looked great doing it.
I could see A Pacer Thunder heated rivalry because they are on the same timeline and both small market teams.
Naismith/Nesmith. He IS basketball
1. It will also be interesting chemistry wise with the bigs turner and obi, jalen, jackson with walker.
2. Who will be on the wing with playing time?they are all good mathurin, brown, nesmith, hield
3. Is nembhard will be the new point guard for 2nd unit?
4. Yah biggest loser in regards to playing time is nwora as the 12th player
Since we are pacers fan for us this team is stacked as the 3 of the 2nd unit this year is a member of the 1st unit last year.
I forgot to mention im LOVING what im seeing from Kendall Brown. He looks like A different player. Hell DEFINITELY get minutes if what ive seen in Summer league translates. He looks GREAT.
Buddy is biggest loser. This is his contract year and the team has said that defense will be priority for team moving forward. The additions of walker and brown proved it. Plus the drafting of shepherd who can defend. The big point is irregardless of if he does or doesn't get traded, his fit with the team long term is near 0%. Seeing him get over 15 minutes a game this year isn't guaranteed.
