Ill reiterate what said when we picked him up… Our true next starting PG will be Markquis 🔮…hes easily a 10 assists averaging PG if given the chance
What a humble guy. In post post game interview he was so hard on himself. Good sign. This is the type of guy who will always put team first. He reminds me a little of John Stockton, a real PG.
He got credited with 12 assists, that last one was nasty, fake pass behind the back hezzi to Wieskamp, beautifully executed

Hohnesly he’s not what we need we need a guy who puts rim pressure not some guy whose just gonna be chucking deep 3s he’s gonna have games where he can’t shoot and his value is bascule non existent cuz he can’t play off ball nor do anything else to win you games

Better fit than wisecamp maybe but we really just need to scout the best player from summer league that another team isn't able to sign to their roster or one of the players who isn't signed yet to their team. We got a chance to poach lots of unsigned players still
Guys like Nowell and Dick are lucky their playing for Darko. Because if Nurse was still coach they’d be glued to the bench and sabotaged. Nowell I gonna have run the floor and play suffocating defence. I wanna see that Lowry dog in him making his teammates better. Vanvleet was a selfish price.

I listen to this young man interview and what I see is a young man who understands the game and once young man have the right coaching in his ears and the teammates who will stick to the appointment and where they need to be this kat will be fans favourite I like the kid. Markquis Nowell is a position player he knows what he must do kind of like Jakob Poeltl they play to their strengths. Not like Christian Koloko and Precious Achiuwa who think they’re Steph fucking Curry play where your strength is at. But yes sir I like this kat.

if he has shooters around him, yes, as he will need an open court. and… he has to hit the open three. he won't rebound, no mid-range, and he can finish at the rim, but no height. so he has to hit the open shots, and i think he can, and we know he can pass. so… this year… maybe limited bench minutes and a guy able to change pace, cause he will have to play fast too. and on D… he has to play very crafty, and nab a few steals. very tough and unique road ahead.
Another NYC pg people forget about is Omar Cook. The Chef was crazy with it at st Johns.
Don’t forget Penny. Penny left Drexler’s stuck to the floor. And he had all seeing eye passes. Marquis ooh and ahh feels like Skip. So much potential. A+ scouting by Masai.
I kike how he speaks. He wants to get to know where other guys like to be and what their thinking is. That game off, he spent time working with Gradey to learn how they can play together. He knows that chemistry is the ticket. He can make the pass, but it won't amount to anything if the other guy isn't ready and expecting it, even in the most unlikely moment, because he can dish it out.
There's a reason he's working with Gradey. The team is looking at him wanting to give him that shot. Yes, of course to bring GD along but I think the management see this duo off the bench as being something that can work. And Marquis getting the bench moving. They're not just giving him some cookie crumbs, wasting everyone's. They want to give him the tools and give him that chance.
Where's Flyyn? You seen him around building chemistry? I think Nowell and Dowtin are going to get minutes and someone will emerge as the real backup PG. Certain matchups may be more ideal, I believe coach will know how and when to call their number.
