RJ is so out of place in this trio. Assuming you have to trade Julius to make this happen, RJ simply wouldn’t be good enough of a 3rd player to be anywhere near what Joel had in Philly. It’s a downgrade. I’m not even sure that with Julius instead of RJ, it wouldn’t be a downgrade, but at least we’re having a conversation about 3 talented players.
Literally, what in the world does he provide that you can rely on every night that would help Embiid and Brunson. He can’t shoot from anywhere. Anywhere, and he can’t change directions on dribble drive or pull up, from ANYWHERE. I guess to get Embiid if I had to go with your scenario, I’d still do it, but then I’m trading RJ.
