With our current roster (Guys will obviously be cut or traded to meet 15 player limit though)

    PG: Tre/Payne/Rice

    SG: Vassell/Branham/Graham

    SF: Keldon/Bullock/McDermott

    PF: Wemby/Sochan/Champagnie

    C: Collins/Bassey/Mamu

With Blake, Sidy, and Barlow getting heavy minutes in Austin

  2. jasoncyke

Sochan at 5 is a bit pushing it, but he could proves us wrong.

  3. repfamlux

Play Victor at the 3 and Sochan at the 4

  4. Veggiedelite90

Jeremy is not going to the bench he’s our most promising player outside of Wemby.

  5. mallllls

Sochan is most definitely not coming off the bench

  6. Nickname-CJ

Sochan is more likely to start at PG than come off the bench. Tre Jones or Zach Collins are onna have to sit

  7. Individual_Good_620

Victor and Shownan definitely needs to play a 3/4. Collins at 5

  8. HarryBirdGetsBuckets

I will riot if Jeremy comes off the bench

  9. NefariousnessLeast21

A lot of people are saying that Jeremy needs to start and I agree, I just don’t know how you do that and have enough scoring because wemby is going to be at the four. I think Keldon Johnson needs to be in for offense to be decent, but you know Pop is married to a veteran point guard.

I’ll say this, We definitely aren’t even close to having the top end talent We need to do much in the west right now

But as far as depth is concerned, roster actually looks really really solid

Graham, McDermott, Bullock, Osman, Payne, is a solid five man veteran group(not all together obviously)

And then you factor in the young players with mamu, bassey, Malachi, Julian, all having showed at least flashes of being rotation caliber players last year

And then one of Jeremy/ Johnson will probably come off the bench too

I wouldn’t be surprised if our bench keeps us in some games next year that the starters struggle to initially keep close depending on how many of those veterans we keep.

occasionally call up erik stevenson that guys game is smooth

keldon is going to the bench everyone keeps thinking that last season means more than it did but he was forced to be the #1 guy and we saw the consequences his efficiency was in the tank because he isn’t him he will be a great 6th man energy guy and won’t have to defend stars/superstars and can give more on the offense

and it was clear to anyone who could see that had devin not been hurt most of the time he would have been #1 but it’s probably a good thing he wasn’t because we would have won more games i think that’s actually why he was out so much pop could see that we would win too much and was extra safe about his return

Why cant we get wemby some support smh he deserves to win. Not get called a bust

Ppl bet a lot of money on him and they are going to be ruthless. Wemby is going to get bullied with nobody who can literally fight for him. We need a deep bench and having tre in pattys role would be optimal. We have 2 former bulls we can send back & get our missing piece back who would actually give us a chance to contend& wemby get ROY.
Let’s use some logic here: Consider all of the easy shots Jakob used to miss that wemby could easily put in.

Consider that these young guys aren’t used to playing with someone this tall& dont have the kind of passing skills DeMar has. We don’t need turnovers, and Wemby would get some sick highlights too.
I mean the young core we still have is used to playing with him and they can do all kinds of crazy moves with eachother. I want to see these young guys flourish and get the spotlight on them, they deserve to have help like other winning teams

  14. I think Keldon off the bench isn’t that bad of an idea. It’s just becuz he’s on the bench doesnt mean he can’t get starter minutes. He could be an elite sixth man, the best in the league

  15. Aggravating_Impact97

I threw up in my mouth at the thought of sochan coming off the bench. What a fucking waste that would be.

  16. MediumAmazing4977

Yeah I still find it crazy we’re projecting Sochan to come off the bench. But at the same time maybe he will even out the 2nd group with Payne? If we keep him? Blake still needs coaching.

  17. Tapprunner

Big Body is leading the bench mob. Sochan is starting.

  18. TheBlueOne37

I know they have said Collins is going to start, but I just don’t see it. Tre Jones, Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, and Victor Wembanyama is who I expect to start. They could experiment with Sochan at point and start Collins over Jones, but I just don’t see that as being as effective long term.

  19. zwolden713

Y’all think Payne off the bench and Blake spending extra time in Austin is best for the development of the team? Payne is obviously better, but we should be focused on development right now, not wins.

  20. tlpedro

Sochan and Cam Payne eventually in the starting lineup

  21. Aggravating_Impact97

Tre was a starter for most of the season and this was one of the worst teams in the league.

It is not his fault by any means you won’t find many post calling him a bad PG. he’s fine. But let’s call a spade a spade he’s a rotation level player that you shouldn’t be shoehorning into your starting lineup just because you are feeling nice.
The spurs main object should be to find there best starting five period end of story. You don’t draft a sochan to bring him off the bench. That’s a waist of his talents. Stop trying to create a manu role for people that aren’t manu. They only did that because of the fit with Parker.

The solution is kind of simple you drop the idea of center and divy up those task. There aren’t that many true big men any more. It would be a waste to draft wemby and to bench sochan. Your doing something wrong.
To me the locked for the starting line up is Wemby, Devin, and Sochan. I feel like the one player that would be the odd man out is keldon. But I think the spurs should try to make it work before doing that. They need to find there best five period. Manu isn’t here any more so people’s obsession of finding that type of 6th man is a waste.
I would like to see Payne, DV, keldon, sochan and wemby. No one is banging down low anymore. But if you have to, send keldon to the bench and bring up collins.
