Jason Preston you are NOT getting extended!
The only guy on that list that should have an easy yes for an extension is Mann. Boston could be a yes, too, if he doesn’t demand too much since he is already too good for the g league and on a friendly contract he can earn playing time. I’d say yes to Martin, too, but it also depends how much he wants to.
PG and Kawhi have too many health issues and the team has bent over backwards to accommodate them for basically one finals appearance. If they want an extension then I would ask them to take a pay cut. After the lack of interest when pg was shopped, it should help show their value is declining and if they want to help the team win, they need to make less with this new CBA making it harder.
Preston is a no for me, the guy isn’t athletic enough or aggressive as a shooter to make up for it, and defensively he can’t keep up with other guards. Plus, he is prone to leaving his feet when he tries to pass, and if his first option isn’t available he is stuck in the air so he’ll make a bad pass.
Mook is a hard no, no explanation needed.
TMann the only one that has earned their extension.
