Ref: “Initially on the floor the original signal was in fact Golden State ball as this can be seen on video. There is a second signal but that signal is for a mandatory timeout that was due to the Mavs.”
The PA announcer said it was Mavs ball prior to the play. Pretty much everyone was confused, the ref should have never put the ball in play.
Outrageous. The refs should've waited for the mavs to come back before giving the ball to the warriors.

Mavs can't advance the ball so them being on the other side makes no sense except that they were confused. Only protesting to save face.

Refs definitely screwed up. First of all, Looney should have been called foul for pulling Doncic's jersey before he got the rebound. Then the ref confused the Mavs by pointing the other way due to a timeout. If the announcer said it is Mavs ball, then that's another problem. Third, the refs should manage the game fairly by having the Mavs team come back before inbounding the ball. You can't have a team taking advantage of another because of misunderstanding of what the call was lol.
Whoever says the ref changed the call clearly need to watch the replay again. It’s clear the ref pointed warriors ball, then signaled time out & pointed to the mavs, then when Looney goes up to the ref to protest, he signals to the warriors side again to clarify dubs ball. You can see the ref still pointing warriors ball when Wood goes to protest the call. You can also see Josh Green AND Jaden Hardy get upset when they see the ref call warriors ball & turn away when ref called mavs timeout. The refs should’ve clarified during timeout but stupid mistake from the mavs players and especially coaching staff for not clarifying and all 5 players defending the wrong basket, when it wasn’t 4th quarter. Dumb of them to follow blindly with what the announcers say.

The Warriors also had an opportunity to take a wide open 3 with a guaranteed offensive rebound. Surprised they didn't take a stab at that first.
