Isaiah Mobley’s confidence is as high as ever right now. Cavs giving him a roster spot with a standard contract will just boost his self belief and turn himself into an NBA player. Cavs should pull the trigger tomorrow honestly. Even if he doesn’t play significant minutes, it’ll only help him now and the team later. He’s a legitimate back up 4 with a very intriguing skill set

The FO probably wants to keep him off his rookie contract for another year for tax reasons and potential flexibility as we will have a lot of guys who could be traded for a potentially larger contract in return.
However, I agree that Isaiah is killing it, and if he gets rotational minutes, it would seem unfair to keep him on a 2-way.
He is absolutely ready.

I honestly think he’s a SF. Would love to see some minutes with:
DG – Emoni – Mobley – Niang – Mobley
The floor would be so spaced for Ev and Darius to play-make.
He has the talent, but it just wouldnt make sense right now. Better to wait. He is not going to get a lot of minutes as the 4th/5th big anyways, especially in the playoffs. Would rather get a vet or gamble on someone with upside and keep are two-way guys on their current contracts. If they really show out in the g-league like they did in summer league, we can sign them next offseason.
