Joel Embiid was asked in an interview recently about his future goals and he left the door open about possibly not staying with the Philadelphia 76ers long-term. It was an interesting admission that brought out more NBA discourse around another superstar possibly wanting out of a current situation.
Along with that, the Brooklyn Nets are one of the most well-positioned teams to trade for a superstar in the future. This doesn’t necessarily mean Joel Embiid specifically, but it does warrant a discussion about possibly landing spots and how the Nets are positioned going into the future for superstars.

Good evening! Wow 😮 didn't expect us to address the Joel Embid trade rumors so early but let's look at the facts: James harden wants out of Philly and Tobias Harris will not be back next season either. That would leave Joel Embid entering his prime 30+ years with new franchise cornerstone Tyrese Maxey…
If Philly doesn't win next season the odds of Embid wanting a change of scenery could be very likely…
Brooklyn meanwhile could be in a great position to trade for Joel given their Suns picks could be very valuable…
Having a core of Joel Embid Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton 🔥🔥🔥🔥 could definitely be championship caliber…
Now the type of players that would need to be traded to acquire Embid is where this whole scenario gets tricky…
So for now let's focus on the present while realizing Brooklyn will use their picks to get a high caliber player in the future…
It's ironic many people said philly won the trade with Brooklyn when they had to give away their best defensive player in Ben Simmons, their best three point scorer in Seth curry and their best backup center in Andre Drummond along with two first round draft picks….
They gave all that away for two back to back second round playoff exits and the closest thing to championship gold that James Harden delivered was a golden rolex to Joel Embid for his MVP award…..
Without James harden going forward and a massive shortage of draft capital Tyrese Maxey looks destined to be the cornerstone for a rebuild while Joel Embid wants to compete for a championship somewhere else….
