[Teller] It’s not hard to infer from this interview, other things Morey has said, and from Haliburton himself that he was on the table last year. It is what it is, but not sure why the gaslighting all of a sudden that Harden was the only option.

Errr…Hali said there was a “rumor”. And his agent talked to him in a joking manner. So, we can infer that he didn’t take this rumor seriously

Also, I thought Morey said in the interview that they tried to target Hali, but Kings won’t give him up for Ben

Haliburton trade was only reported by Pompey who was also the first one to report that Harden is going to Houston, that Sixers weren’t going to pick up Shake’s option last year, Suns interest in Ayton for Tobias (every Suns insider said it was nonsense)

  3. Even if it was on the table, our goal was to win a chip and maximize Embiid’s prime during this title window. Hali would have been the better long term play, but Harden was definitely the play if we were looking to go all in for a 2 year shot.

It’s very easy to infer that one of the “younger players” Morey mentioned was Haliburton if your mindset is confirmation bias
