Tbh I’m kinda surprised. Hasn’t shown much, was a complete non factor in summer league, and I would’ve though we’d take a flyer on someone else

You can have 21 players in camp and pre-season, so expect some more signings as we approach training camp but those will most likely be players we want to get with the 905, and are less likely to make the team. The Raptors usually create a little battle in training camp for the final roster spot but I have to imagine Dowtin is the favourite for that spot right now.
Part of wonders how he got that given his summer league performance. Watched all 5 games and he was consistently bad against some really bad competition

For everyone that thinks we should have completely changed course and cut him after 5 summer league games despite his strong 905 season last year, should we also be panicking about Dick because he shot 22% from 3.
It was such a small sample size. We have a much larger sample size from last year in the G-League and he was quite good.
He’s a two-way guy going into his 2nd pro season. Let’s calm down on expectations and just see if he can make some strides to potentially join the end of the rotation sometime in the next year or two. Low expectations out of these 2 way spots.
This is good. He got a lot better in the G league last year and shot 36% from 3. Over 2 ‘stocks’ a game, 2-1 assist to turnover ratio. He plays well he might get some run, depending on trades.
There’s still another free two way plus a regular spot. Why are people mad at this lol. He’s worth taking another look at after a decent rookie year in the g league, even if he sucked in summer league

I saw during the last game of the summer league, if someone can find a video of this, it was showing Bobby Webster in the audience and a guy next to him asked him a question and I saw him mouth the words “two way” and Bobby’s response to the question from the guy was: “Ron Harper.” As soon as I saw that I knew Ron was getting a two way, and I’m happy to see him get that.
Didn’t he say that he was the best defender on the raptors last year?I like that he takes pride in his defense.Hopefully he becomes a rotation player sooner rather than later.
