emoni changed my outlook on his future. after confirming everyone’s fears in that first game, he quickly corrected course and not only showed skills outside of scoring immediately, he got better with every game. championship game was by far his best as a playmaker. he’s obviously not the next kd, but i think he’ll be helping the cavs win games way sooner than expected.
Emoni needs time to develop – Cavs are not a rebuilding team and Bates is not a high draft pick – no need to rush him – but scoring upside is exciting but has to develop his secondary skills to NBA level
In 2-3 yrs a lineup of Garland Mitchell Mobley Allen & Bates is going to be tough
