[Baraheni] So if the Raptors don’t do anything else — here’s the team: Schroder, Malachi, GTJ, Gradey, OG, Otto Scottie, Pascal, Precious, McDaniels, Thad Jakob, Boucher, Koloko + the 2 ways

Too many forwards, not enough guards.

Seems like a ~39 win team if they keep Pascal, probably ~30 wins if they trade him.

I don’t mind this tbh, may not be a contending team, or even one capable of getting past the first round, but with Darko in, it could be quite entertaining to watch. Just hope they go out there, have fun, and develop as individuals.

Thanks did not know the roster if nothing changed

The lack of shooting and ballhandling is disgusting even if Boucher returns to his 2020 form and Scottie/Pascal became average to above average from 3

Is there a spot left for Dowtin still other than a 2 way. I legitimately think he would do a better job than Malachi

  6. dmanilluminati

The comma inconsistencies are killing me here

  7. midnightmunchiez

Sign Jeff Dowtin, become a lottery team, give Spurs the pick, do this all over again in a year.

This team is going to struggle to make the play-in.

I wonder how much more draft capital Masai is going to give up for mid talent so we can make that playoff push. 🫠

Isiah collier you are not a raptor!

I was thinking about it this way, position by position.

Pg: Schroeder, hungry vet with tons of experience, good handler, can pressure the rim, draw fouls, surprisingly good in the clutch.

Sg: Trent, Deadly shooter who can easily get hot and go for 30. Decent from midrange, developing floater.

SF: OG, top defender, great shooter, developing midrange. Can guard all the best wings.

PF: Pascal, elite post player, great passer, can draw doubles and score from all 3 levels.

C: Poeltl, great team player, does the dirty work, protects the rim, can score or pass as needed.

Obviously the fit with Barnes and Siakam needs to be figured out. Not saying Scottie doesn’t deserve to start. Just pretend it’s college and he’s the super 6 man. Each one of these guys fits their positional archetype really nicely. Do they stack up against the best teams? Maybe not. But I’m excited to see this group play together. There is more talent here than some people think.

I will say, this team looks scrapy in somewhat of a good way. Don’t expect much, but it will be interesting to see how OG, Scottie, and Pascal handle the full time leadership roles. Stoked that the yak is back and I can’t wait to see how precious and koloko work out.

Raptors are in the mix for the play-in tournament!!! Exciting! If they actually make the playoffs, I will treat that as a pseudo-championship before a first round sweep.

  13. punintented

Schroder is not the answer for a starting guard.

    Roster still needs improvement

It’s not about wins and loses its about the friends made along the way

  15. AngryHelicopter

This next season is going to be so depressing.

  16. IndigoRivers

Scottie + shooters. Tons of dribble hand offs. Tons of offensive rebounding. Length on defense. And good vibes. I’m for it. Let’s see something we can’t imagine work

  17. laidbackemergency

Team is gonna be trash and we’ll have to make a tough decision about Pascal at the deadline.

  18. Solid 7/8 seed if we manage to develop Scotty and the other young guys effectively over the season. It’s a process I guess..

  19. TJStrawberry

Yikes the worst part is we traded a top 6 protected pick and ended up like this.

  20. matthitsthetrails

At least the shooting will probably be better than last yrs team, but our ceiling seems incredibly limited

Maybe we end up with 25+ wins by asb if everything goes right? If not gonna have to trade for picks, especially if OG/pascal/Scottie still have 0 chemistry together

  21. realair

this is the squad that masai said is not that different from the miami heat

  22. Large_Housing4039

Not bad! So basically no Fred and NN is the difference from last year! Which according to most is the reason why we lost 😍
