Ochai Agbaji is Breaking the Mold

You may not even know who Ochai Agbaji is, but the 14th overall pick from the 2022 NBA Draft, who was traded to the Utah Jazz shortly after draft night, is due for a very long career in the NBA.

Agbaji is a unique player because, despite being drafted in the lottery, he was a four-year college player and came to the NBA at the age of 22. Now, there’s plenty of good reasons as to why he was selected in the lottery. He was the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, he was one of the biggest reasons why the University of Kansas Jayhawks were able to take down the University of North Carolina Tarheels in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Sometimes, when you’re good enough, it doesn’t matter your age. And that’s certainly the case for Ochai Agbaji. While I don’t think he’s ever going to be the first option, or even second option for the Utah Jazz, Agbaji exemplifies why it’s important to not always look at potential, but also players that are good immediately.

While Lauri Markkanen was the big draw of the Utah Jazz trade that sent Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland, Ochai Agbaji might quietly be the biggest steal of it all.

  1. I love this guy so much, adored watching him in college my favorite player from the 2022 class. So as a jazz fan I was ecstatic when he got traded here, currently my favorite player in the league. ❀️

  2. W video as always alex i really think ochai abagi can be a great 3rd option as that 3 and D guy for the jazz very soon and is a great fit alongside keyonte george, lauri markkanen, taylor hendricks and walker kessler

  3. The 3&D wing the Cavs have been searching for is the wing they traded for Mitchell..

  4. Finally a GOOD take on Agbaji. Jazz fans seem to think he's the second coming of Kawhi Leonard, and non-Jazz fans (that I've talked to) think he sucks. The reality is that he's good, can get better, and has weak spots in his game. Great video/take!

  5. Loved him coming out of the draft for the easy parallels to another favorite of mine, Desmond Bane. Quality players that have high floors and are extremely valuable

  6. FYI just want to throw this out here Dame Lillard and CJ from Portland we're both four-year starters in college who went on to become All-Stars in the NBA

  7. I thought this was one of those ai channels based on the thumbnails. glad i clicked anyways

  8. The more than one year of college thing is crazy now days. It's become such an undesirable thing around the league, WHY though!? Tim, David, Charles, Shaq, Hakeem, Jordan, MJ, Magic, Kareem. πŸ™„ All these failing franchises.

  9. I love watching the Jazz offense, so much more action than high pick n roll

  10. Look how well he uses his left hand around the basket. That makes him hard to guard. Four years with Bill Self at KU wasn't wasted.
