[Keith Smith] After re-signing Ayo Dosunmu, the Chicago Bulls are only ~$1.8M under the luxury tax. They could get to ~$3.7M under. In their history, CHI has only paid the tax twice, for a total of just over $8M. Hard to believe they’ll go deep into the tax to add more guys this offseason.

FO trying to field a team that never hits the tax apron: *strong doge*

FO trying to field a team that justifies paying the tax: *weak doge*

FO gaming our expectations so that they field teams good enough to not lose money but bad enough to never ever justify going over the apron: *laser eyes strong doge*

  2. Only paying the tax twice for one of the highest revenue, attendance, & net worth teams. Gross.

Why would they go into the tax for this team? This team is average at best and not worth paying the tax for.

A minimum deal, then possibly one more minimum nonguaranteed deal to battle between them and Carlik Jones

I think this is a make or break it year for the Mid 3. This is last year on Derozan’s contract, Vucevic has a contract that is easily tradeable and Lavine has teams that would want his services. If the Bulls are not near playoff contention by the deadline, they will go for a full rebuild. It makes sense to signing both Ayo and Coby.

Can’t wait for the Play In Game again.

I think this is the team. You need the 3.7mil space for maneuverability in you get injuries and whatnot.

To be honest, spending the luxury tax on this team is mismanagement. You want that to kick in when you are actually contending.

The Bulls and Sox will never win again under Jerry and his family unless they luck into the next MJ. Took me 30+ years to come to terms that these franchises are the worst managed in the league.
