Dame Lillard’s crime? Asking to join the Miami Heat | Five on the Floor

Ethan, Alex and Brady have had enough of all the double standards when it comes to Dame Lillard’s decision to leave the Portland Trail Blazers…. and to ask to be traded to the Miami Heat. Why is it only a problem when it’s Miami? And have you seen the list of players Lillard’s been given as teammates in Portland? It’s time for some callouts.

  1. Can you all do a 5 on the floor about the origin of heat hate in the media and across the country? When did it start? why did it start? I would love to here Ethan document that phenomenon!!!

  2. Hot as hell outside, no NBA games, and it's not Dame time yet….
Very little to work with, but i still commend you guys for keeping up the grind…

  3. I sorta agree but I don't think everyone has a grudge against Miami, its mainly those Boston fans

  4. Either harden gets over hated or over looked lol. In their prime prime, harden was able to do more with less. Yes all the criticisms are true but that doesn’t take away from that fact that he’s a top 5 sg of all time lol. I’d say lillard isn’t light years ahead of harden, rather he’s mainly a better shooter, harden still a better playmaker. He did his job on the sixers, he made the right pass when the defense overplayed him which was every possession. The Cs knew the other guys couldn’t make shots consistently. Harden really deserves more respect by playing how basketball shouldn’t be played but still being a top 5 in the west. That being said lillard coming to the heat is perfect n we’d go to the finals for sure, although harden I feel like is the better overall scorer and playmaker (by a little bit) lillards shooting and crazy scoring along with the most important thing, his character is a better fit for us by a lot. Can’t wait

  5. This off season a couple former heat players were talked about or rumored to maybe come back to Mia. This got me thinking…

Over the decades, Miami has had a respectable list of exceptional players suit up for the heat. Regardless where they started or ended their careers, who do you think will forever be "Heat Guys"?
Example: D Wade/ U.D. obvious "Heat guys", where as Bron was more of a "Hired Assassin"
Im talking about guys who embraced an embodied heat culture and endeared themselves to the fans and the city.
