teams in other leagues, and the nba for that matter get things done with players when in the off season before the final year of their contract. whether it's extending them or trading them. they screwed up wit fvv and now they are in the same situation with 2 more important pieces of their team. poor asset management?
Blame Ujiri for not trading FVV at the trade deadline. But he needs kudos for not over paying Freddie, that contract is beyond ridiculous and goes down as one of the worst contracts ever. There are 28 other NBA executives who would agree that $40M+ for FVV is silly. No one could have predicted that Houston would come in and bomb the market.
Its well known within the NBA that nobody wants to make trades with Danny Ainge. Yet, he still goes out and makes BIG trades that surprise everyone. Masai has done so in the past, but lately his moves have been underwhelming.
