  1. It must be tough on you guys when many other reporters are on vacation along with most NBA staff. Do the players even have access to the practice facility? We know what these reserve wings can give us. It is always iffy on the youngsters. I come to the NBA, even in off season, to cleanse myself of my political reading.

  2. I don't believe the rumors that were out there from TradeNBA and other sites. We're stuck with a team who refuses to adjust its small-ball philosophy. These two are our Power-Forward and Center

  3. Hello everyone looking at this realistically Royce o Neale has a higher chance of being traded given he's in the last year of his contract. Brooklyn wants a draft pick for him and the Mavs are a team Brooklyn should think about. Javale Magee doesn't have a place on the Mavs and Brooklyn could offer Royce o Neale for Javale Magee and try to get some second round draft picks back as well…

Having Javale Magee serve as a mentor to Claxton and Dayron while providing some decent minutes would be a good addition….

  4. Did anyone hear the news on ESPN that Ben Simmons is close to a full return and has had no setbacks. The plan for Ben Simmons is to be a point guard and playmaker for the team…

This immediately made me wonder what's Spencer dinwiddie role going to be. If Ben Simmons returns to the starting lineup does Dinwiddie become a sixth man leading the bench? The other realistic possibility is that Tyler Herro to Brooklyn is still very much on the table as well. Be interesting to find out what happens with that soon….

  5. I think teams that need to get over the hump to be contenders will be banging the Nets doors down at the trade deadline for Royce and DFS. We should be able to name our price at that point

  6. Comments made by Sean Marks, in his joint season ending press conference with Jacque Vaughn, gave indicators that the Nets were going to do things differently in the future. For the second time in his 7 plus years as the GM of the Nets that he didn't make any moves on or right before draft night was another indicator.

  7. Before being too critical of the Nets performance last season, it should be taken into account how disruptive hiring a new head coach and trading away several all/super stars, in the same season, has been.

  8. After hiring an inexperienced head coach, (Steve Nash) a few years ago that was fired after a couple of years, and the trading away of three all/super stars, in the same season, it's no surprise Sean Marks is cautious about making trades for high salary players, especially those with dubious personalities. Presently, we're more interested in team chemistry, stability, cohesion, and continuity. Keeping our financial house in order is a top priority, also. Having a good war chest is always a good thing.

  9. I don't think Sean Marks fumbled the opportunity to trade Royce O'Neale or Dorian Finney-Smith this offseason; it was deliberate. I'm sure it's fresh in his mind of making the boneheaded decision of not retaining veteran role players Bruce Brown and Jeff Green and they moved on, became rotation players for the Denver Nuggets, and contributed to them winning the championship last season. He's said he want to see how far this team go before, if any, major changes are made. I think making "strategic" and ":incremental" moves is the right strategy.
