Inexplicable favorite players from the last decade?

And why is it Jake billy goat Layman

Besides the time he decided to put the [Pels away in the 1st half](https://youtu.be/ThLyFwZWTqU)

Or his statue or Liberty drives to the rim finishing with dunks, finger rolls, or hooks

Maybe the pure looking Klay-esque shooting form (he was cursed to never shoot 40%3 by the gods, don’t @ me)

Or the fact that he new how to cut during a Nurk high key play.

His awkward tucked elbows nearly 95% of his on court time

And lastly, maybe cause to me he looked like a 6’8 version of my brother

No matter the reason, anytime I think if the Dame CJ era of Blazers basketball, I’m taken to Jake and how for some reason I thought he’d develop into our final answer at the SF position and be the glue to lead us to chip #2… I wasn’t a smart teenager

    Here’s some summer reading:

[Extended down to Buck Pels, game, make sure to read the description](https://youtu.be/SNKIsbm9w64)

[Always fun to watch a guy show out against Mia, ignore the final score](https://youtu.be/GJJMjXQJll4)

In an era where it felt they always let random bench guys go off against them, Jake was our team’s “who the fuck even is this guy?” And for that, I am eternally grateful

Apparently he now plays for the “Seahorses Mikawa,” in Japan.

I aways thought layman had one of the prettiest jumpers, never understood how it could look so amazing and yet didn’t have a great shooting percentage

Man I’m here for it – I was all about Jake Layman too. The smooth athleticism, bounciness, high motor, and silky smooth jumper were all so money. And his headiness – he felt like he could be trusted on the court pretty much immediately. I was bummed when whatever series of events led him to want to go to Minnesota (IIRC). Really felt like he had a solid career in the making and seemed to kinda disappear after that

I still remember his debut, 17 on 5-7 shooting from 3! Too bad it was garbage time in a blowout though…

A little bit outside of this timeframe, but Travis Outlaw was absolutely my favorite growing up. Some of his posters were so satisfying. James Jones and Webster were also tons of fun when they got hot from 3.

rudy fernandez. thought he would live to be 100 still sniping multiple 3 pters a night.

Mo Harkless! Or Mo Williams! Loved both Mo’s. I remember watching him with my friend who didn’t know who he was and he asked me why I loved this guy so much and I said, “he tries to dunk it every time he’s close to the basket.”

Everybody except Dame has been a letdown over the past decade
