He’s wrong but I could see why you would come to that conclusion.

  2. OutsideTheServiceBox

Harden is much better in the current game, but I think Wade was better in the 2000s during his peak. Especially when you consider that Wade was a pretty great defender for a guard, I think I’d take him in his prime years.

  3. referee-superfan

This feels wrong but now that I’m stopping and thinking about it. I don’t think it’s that crazy. Bit I do disagree.

  4. xerxesthagreat

lmao all these people saying harden is better when Wade dominated a Finals showing up in the clutch and doing Hardens signature foul baiting better than him. Wade also just isn’t a choker, and double the defender. Regular season scoring only take you so far.

  5. Long_Chance3583

Peak Wade is better. Harden will end up having better longevity. Harden is the better shooter and passer but Wade did everything else better and was still a great passer.

But even comparing around these two generations is problematic. We never saw 2006 Wade with 5 out spacing.

  6. SirCarter91

The D Wade disrespect has been insane lately lol

  7. IamSofakingRAW

Taking 09 Wade over peak Harden. I’m pretty sure if Wade or Bron were given leeway to hold the ball 40% of the time and play no defense they’d average 38 a game and be lauded for how amazing their offense is

Also Wade pre injury was willing worse teams to better playoff outcomes. Prime Harden with no injury has too many collapses with good teams in the playoffs to crown him better than Wade. Imagine Michael Beasley leading the Heat to the conf Finals after Wade gets benched in a blow out and the team comes back without him.

Lol @ people counting post knee injury Wade stats also

  8. HelloImKebin

Dwade and the heat team kept robbing him of a deep post season run. I can see he took it personal

  9. insertdankmeme

It’s not an unreasonable opinion. It just comes down to how you personally define “better.” Can easily make an argument for either one depending on that definition.

  10. CryptoKing25

Don’t forget Wade was one of the best defensive guards of all time. Most blocks by any guard. Even more blocks per game then Jordan or Lebron which is crazy impressive for 6’4

  11. paxusromanus811

I have absolutely no dog in this race either way, but I will say this isn’t exactly a controversial opinion. Both of them are all-time greats and love him or hate him, James harden is one of the best offensive players of all time. And Dwyane Wade is probably one of the five greatest shooting guards of all time.

I think it’s really a coin flip and comes down to personal preference

  12. legendOfHeisenburg

I still have nightmares about what D Wade did to Pitt in the NCAA tourney

  13. cyianite

So nowadays they compare everyone to Wade?

  14. Phenom_Mv3

Harden got regular season longevity. That’s it

    To put things in perspective;

Marcus Smart DPOY Season – 119 steals, 18 blocks

Wade 09 Season – 173 steals, 108 blocks, scoring title over MVP LeBron and Champion Kobe on higher FG%

I know defense is more than the stats, but this puts into perspective how crazy dominant he was on both ends of the floor in his prime. Doesn’t fold in big moments either and never had the luxury of playing in a 5 out offense where there barely any help D inside.

    It’s not even close imo

  15. ToneDowneyAve

No he’s not. Overall game Wade clears pretty easy. His mentality and approach to the game is even better then Hardens. Talkin bout a year 3 player going and winning a chip as the best player on his team. When Shaq was still there and wasn’t a complete slouch. Wade is that guy. 3rd best SG ever after Mike & Kobe.

  16. Maskdoe

Whoever says Harden is better did not watch playoffs.

  17. mylastphonecall

some of these comments are insane lmfao saying wade had worse teams is subjective but saying you’d take alot of hardens rockets teammates over Shaq who just came in 2nd place in MVP voting in route to a chip is beyond insane please seek help if hating harden makes you say things like that. I’m sure Wade was very envious of Harden having Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson and a Dwight that couldn’t even average 20 with a guy who is so good at running the pnr he got guys like tarik black a 2nd contract

  18. mmaguy123

I know playoffs are weighted much more than regular season, not to mention rings.

That being said it feels wrong that Harden had the 3 year stretch of the best offensive regular seasons of all time and it’s just written off by a string of 8-12 playoff games by Wade.

  19. BKtoDuval

maybe has more talent but as we’ve seen the past few years, his head isn’t right. too self-centered. D Wade is a winning player

  20. HorrorPassion9540

The game is not played on one side of the floor.

  21. HolyRomanPrince

That’s an opinion you can have. I don’t agree but you can absolutely make an argument James is a better player.

  22. ZaMaestroMan5

That’s the dumbest shit I ever heard

  23. wutevahung

Anyone who says “easily” on either side is pretty dumb. Those two are extremely close.

  24. schuster9999

Yes he currently is at this exact time

  25. ImNoSir

I would like what Jeff Teague is smoking

  26. Either is a good choice.

People forget Harden had absolutely bonkers numbers in Houston, but people also forget how much slower the pace of play was in Prime DWade’s NBA, and how deflated Wade’s numbers must have been because of that.

  27. HonestBullfrog8908

Lol harden only better at threes, THATS IT

  28. JasonLikesCTE

One of his points is that Harden ran into the greatest team ever and almost beat them. If it wasn’t for the warriors Harden likely has a ring and that changes the way everyone looks at him. Wade never had to go against a team like that and had LeBron. A point could be made for either one and if you think it’s “no discussion” then idk maybe y’all just think avg near 40 and dropping 50pt trip doubles is not impressive lol

  29. Actual_Customer_6101

At what, choking in the playoffs? Getting pissy and demanding trades?

    3x champ vs a no show-er in big games…

Harden has had amazing regular seasons but not even close to DWade in terms of playoff performance

  30. Grandzeni87

Dwyane Wade despite having no meniscus played his fucking ass off for a suprisingly long career. I can’t imagine what he’s feeling as he get older but he never show he was in pain or try not to. James Harden compare to wade is a insult to even compare considering he just always out of shape when things don’t go right. Jeff Teague is a fucking hater and it’s complete nonsense
